ETA: Didn't know they marketed it as a daytona on some of the newer chargers.

Could it be a total cost of vehicle ownership thing and the money you would pay for a vanity plate just isn't worth it after everything is said and done? (Like, in MA there's an excise tax every year on the vehicle you own. That's just money stolen from your pocket because MA is like that. Does NJ do something similar?)

Possibly also other things with cost of living there too. Insurance, taxes, or costs in other areas probably make a vanity plate in NJ frivolous.

I don't know if this is even true, but I've definitely heard and then told people the reason VA has so many is because its free. Which would make me assume they cost money in NY?

SHEVELL - An absolutely stunning 1970 (I think) Chevelle SS with a 454, fire engine red with a black racing stripe. Just gorgeous.

But that was leveled out by:

So, you kinda have to be Air Force to understand this one. The 'Ammo' career field has an acronym/initialism: IYAAYAS that stands for 'If You Ain't Ammo, You Ain't Shit.' (Yes, the double negative is hilarious.) So the guy driving that pick up was a retired one of those types that makes dudes like me cringe.

You’d think driving the kid everywhere for these college visits including leaving early Friday morning to get to Pittsburgh and early this morning to get back from Pittsburgh to fit her schedule would have her amenable to tracking license plates for me but NOOOOOOOOO

It's okay. My wife has informed me she heard White Lives Matter is protesting at the Swan Pond in our town (the same one of the news story where the swan who was abducted and eaten by some teenagers). I think NC might be ground zero for personalized plates. My aunt and uncle used to have DEBBOB4 and DEBBOB5 when they lived in Charlotte.

Just passed a grey Toyota Tacoma with SLVRLINE. NC plates. I'm in Asheville for another 10 days. I'm sure I'll have more to add.
