Yeah I think the restaurant owner had his plausible deniability lined up: “we were letting the staff off early so they could watch the series.” Yeah, as if you wouldn’t slap out that dough to make pizzas for the Phillies.

My wife is crazy. Today is her birthday, and she's not really an avid sports fan. She bought us tickets for tonight's game.
I'm totally stunned. I just told her that I would've been fine not watching either game and just spent the night with her. Instead we're going to a fucking World Series game. And she's totally bringing a Xanax, as she's not big on crowds. We have a wine-tasting dinner tonight at 5 in Olde City, we're taking Uber back to our hotel in Center City to get changed, and are looking to be there around 8:30.
This is the second World Series Game 5 in my life. The prior one I went went pretty long. Like around 49 hours. Tonight's will probably be shorter.

I still have a mark on the palm of my right hand (hahaha!!!) from hitting at the cages two weeks ago. Apparently the reason I don't need batting gloves for softball is because I only swing like 4 or 5 times per week.
