Trump Threatens Military Action on Venezuela
Trump's more aggressive discourse could be an asset to Maduro by boosting his credibility as a national defender.
"Maduro must be thrilled right now," said Mark Feierstein, who was a senior aide on Venezuela matters to former U.S. president Barack Obama. "It's hard to imagine a more damaging thing for Trump to say."

So previous presidents collectively demeaning the administration of the current one doesn't happen because it makes us look weak or something? Because I'd like to see that happen.

One more step toward a civil war that the left is literally not armed to fight.
Re: Trump Administration Meltdown Thread...
Come on man.
The left could fuck this country up without firing a single bullet. The IRA has shown us a lot.

That is until Trump is a former president and he'll break that tradition too.

Gee...Trump goes after the CEO of Merck more forcefully than the White Supremecists. I wonder what the difference could be?

Eh, to be fair, Trump would have attacked the Merck CEO if he was white and showed up Trump.

Trump denounced the guy from Merck because it had a direct impact on him

Yep. End of story.
I think with Trump, conspiracy theories all have to be simplified, precisely for the reason stated above.
(In light of what I mentioned, two posts down, please ignore this post. Thank you.)

Trump retweets alt-right provocateur after condemning white supremacists
https://twitter.com/JackPosobiec/status ... 1434915842
The fact that the President - or any members of his communications team - is following this wing nut piece of crap speaks very loudly. And the fact that Trump retweets this guy (when the news story tweeted out was available from ABC Chicago) screams even louder.

The murder rate in Richmond, VA is higher than the murder rate in Chicago. Let's talk about that, too. Or let's not because who gives a shitting damn.

But Obama's not from Richmond, or Baltimore, or St. Louis -- or anywhere else with a higher murder rate than Chicago.
What pisses me off about the "what about Chicago" bullshit is that if anyone were actually asking that question in good faith they could find out very easily that plenty of black people are, in fact, very focused on that issue. I saw an excellent documentary called "The Interruptors" several years back that was about community groups in Chicago that go above and beyond to try to combat youth violence.

The Intel and Under Armour CEOs also quit that manufacturing council.

The grotesque model of Trump was claimed by gallery Bravin Lee, who said that the inflatable rat is “an enduring sign of resistance and ridicule.”
"I was always passing by these non-union construction sites on my bike and I saw these inflatable rats. I was amazed at how effective they were. I marveled at how disgusting they were," gallery owner John Post Lee told the Daily News.
The inflatable protest was funded through a Kickstarter, and Lee said that it was made in Brunwick, Ohio.
Made in Ohio! Trump is bringing manufacturing jobs back America!

Meanwhile there's this...
After Charlottesville, Trump retweets — then deletes — image of train running over CNN reporter
This morning he retweeted this image. So will this be the Trump supporter's image of choice? A vehicle killimng an opponent?

General Kelly isn't instilling much discipline now is he?

I hate to say it, but that is a misleading statistic. Chicago is very segregated. The overall murder rate for the city includes the white areas, which are mostly safe and have a very low murder rate, and the black/brown areas.
I think for a reliable comparison, you'd have to be able to compare the per capita murder rates for the "bad areas" of the various cities. If that is even possible to do.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

mister d wrote:Doesn't that same logic apply to St. Louis and Baltimore? Inner Harbor seems pretty safe.
That's absolutely true for St. Louis. The gun violence is heavily concentrated in a handful of neighborhoods. I think the neighborhood I live in has maybe averaged 1 murder per year in the 3 years I've lived here.

I think it does. That's why I think you'd have to compare the bad areas of each city to each other, knowing the population of the bad areas and the number of assaults/shootings/homicides.
Are the bad areas of Chicago worse than the bad areas of St. Louis, or Baltimore, or Richmond, or New York? I have no idea. But comparing the overall murder rates of the cities doesn't really answer that question.

But people use statistics to sway people to their point of view. Broad general stats prove points. Get the base riled up. No need to break it down to make sure it fits the real story.
To quote both Bruce Prichard and Tony Schiavone, "Fuck Duff Meltzer."
Re: Trump Administration Meltdown Thread...
And Trump isn't using any statistics. Chicago could be 1st or 10th or 30th but as long as our black president is from there, its going to be the example.

From the article:
A web hosting provider is fighting back against a search warrant that it claims would require them to turn over information on visitors to a website used to organize protests against President Donald Trump, according to court filings first published on the company's blog Monday.
DreamHost, the web provider in question, said in the post that it has "been working with the Department of Justice to comply with legal process" for months, but federal prosecutors in DC are seeking "all records" related to the website disruptj20.org, which organized protests against the Trump administration in January...
DreamHost contends in court filings that DOJ's requests are unconstitutionally overbroad and would effectively require them to provide the HTTP logs for over 1.3 million IP addresses of visitors to the website.
"That information could be used to identify any individuals who used this site to exercise and express political speech protected under the Constitution's First Amendment," DreamHost said in the blog post. "That should be enough to set alarm bells off in anyone's mind. This is, in our opinion, a strong example of investigatory overreach and a clear abuse of government authority."
I guess Jeff Sessions and co. are triggered and want the entire internet to be their safe space.

No shit. I just find it ridiculous when older generations try to blame millenials for our screwed up politics, when they/we are the age group that was by far the least likely to vote for Trump.
