Really odd timing as I'm going through the podcast "60 Songs That Explain the 90s", and the last one I listened this week to was about "Juicy" where the host talked about her a lot.
One of my favorite shows ever (the podcast in general).
I felt aswirl with warm secretions.

Been seeing a lot of The Jam on the internet since he passed! A buddy of mine is from the band’s hometown (Woking).

Michelle Trachtenberg, ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Actor, Dies at 39
Michelle Trachtenberg, the actor best known for film and television roles including “Gossip Girl” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” has died. She was 39.

She was found in her New York City apartment, according to police. She recently underwent a liver transplant, according to the New York Post, which first reported the news; Trachtenberg’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
Damn...39 is way too young.

That’s just tragic. And it appears to be somewhat natural causes. 39 by any reason is just so unbelievably sad.

David Johansen

This one really saddens me. Lead singer of the outrageous 1970s glam/proto-punk band, The New York Dolls, as well as some decent solo stuff. Also did some acting (Scrooged, Car 54 Where are You?), and you kids might best know him for his alternate persona of Buster Poindexter (Hot, Hot, Hot).

One of my favorite players back when I followed the NBA religiously.

Junior Bridgeman, heart attack, 71.

He was one of the reasons they thought of the 6th man of the year award (well, him, Bobby Jones, Kevin McHale, and Michael Cooper).

RIP

Those Arkansas teams were so much fun. I had just assumed he had been on the team that won the Championship, but he had graduated already.

I'm gonna be respectful and just say there's another version of this biography that isn't as flattering as what I'm reading tonight.

Dude had his paws on a lot of $$ issues and it didn't always redound to the benefit of actually building a solid USSF foundation.

Joe DePugh, Speedball Pitcher in Springsteen’s ‘Glory Days,’ Dies at 75
Joe DePugh, the Little League teammate of Bruce Springsteen who inspired the rocker’s hit song “Glory Days,” a rousing, bittersweet anthem to their hardscrabble childhoods in Freehold, N.J., where time passed by “in the wink of a young girl’s eye,” died on Friday in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was 75.

The cause of death, in a hospice facility, was metastatic prostate cancer, his brother Paul DePugh said.

In the early 1960s, before Mr. Springsteen became the Boss, he was a clumsy baseball player whose athletic abilities were so sad that Joe, the team’s star pitcher, gave him the nickname Saddie.

“Bruce lost this big game for us one year,” Mr. DePugh told The Palm Beach Post in 2011. “We stuck him out in right field all the time, where you think he’s out of harm’s way. But this important game, we had a bunch of guys missing, and we had to play him.”

In the last inning, Saddie dropped an easy fly ball.

“Actually, it hit him on the head,” Mr. DePugh said, “and we lost the game.”

"Speedball" is just not a baseball term. "Fastball" would have worked just as well.
