Not about a personalized plate (although living in Rhode Island I've been tempted given the amazing number of options available), but I figured this could fit into this thread.

I do love my Atlantic Shark Institute license plate.

Alabama has a version that’s a copy of New Jersey’s (light beige with sans serif black characters) and it’s confusing the hell out of me.

I swear every Telsa I see has a fucking personalized plate. This morning is was KDNEY MD, the other day is was MODEL Y, and a few months ago I saw KESLA. These are only the ones I remember. There have been at least 4 others.

What do you think is the average IQ of someone that gets a personalized plate that's just the make or model of their car? Gotta be around 87, right?

I spent the last week in Malibu and Calabasas - it seemed that every third car on the 101 had a personalized plate.

Random thought - when I first moved to California, it was pointed out to me that you could always tell a southern Californian from a northern Californian, because in SoCal, the put “the” in front of the highway name (“the 101”). Up here, that prefix isn’t used by locals.

I’m pretty sure I just picked that up from TV. We definitely didn’t use “the” around Chicago. We didn’t even say “freeway”.
