Yep. I was aware of the after hours place in question but never went...it was in it's heyday after I moved off. That being said, I do know most of the characters involved except for the police chief. Most locals don't talk about it because the article is correct...it was a non-issue/non-story.DSafetyGuy wrote: Fri Feb 17, 2023 10:58 am GoodKarma's formative years were spent here...

In describing a typical scene in which strippers perform at a funeral, the news site continued: “The crowd of pushed to climax, roaring with laughter, whistling, applauding and cursing. As the performers saunter into the audience to giggle their breasts and rub men’s crotches, a reminder of ‘no photographs allowed’ can occasionally be heard.”

Re: Random Headlines
I just saw a headline saying there is a police investigation into this, and I was surprised. Now that they released the video, I can see how there is a question. Looks like the defender may have intentionally kicked out at him. I was picturing the player on the ice. Not sure if there was intent, as the defender did get bumped. Just such a fluke play.Tom 1860 wrote: Sun Oct 29, 2023 6:44 am British Ice Hockey player dies from neck cut by skate

Re: Random Headlines
1. I don't recommend watching that unless its not the version that keeps going.
2. I honestly don't know what kind of intent any honest person could ever attribute here ... like at worst he made a horrible snap-decision trying to block off a guy about to go around him, right? And by extension any player who throws out a leg or tries to unnecessarily hurdle an opponent is also culpable? I know some people can't just accept that accidents and mistakes happen, but given this is apparently a black player, we all know where its heading and why and why the same scene with the actors flipped wouldn't generate that same outrage. Its insanely fucked up because this guy's life is going to be a mess even if the entire world was trying to support him.

Re: Random Headlines
It's a very short, grainy clip, just shows the contact and stops. I wouldn't watch if it went beyond that. I had no idea the other player was black. I wasn't implying there was intent to slit his throat, just that it's a really unusual body position, and it seems like he may have thrown a leg out to slow him down, which is unusual. Feel horrible for the guy, can't imagine living with that.mister d wrote: Mon Oct 30, 2023 4:11 pm 1. I don't recommend watching that unless its not the version that keeps going.

Re: Random Headlines
I'm no expert, but it looks like he clipped the other guy's skate first and it threw him off balance. Unless there's some back story that I don't know about, I can't see any reason why he would intentionally do that. If he wanted to crush the other guy, he'd have thrown a shoulder into him.
