With all the success he's has on Merseyside this year, you have to wonder if a bigger club will come in and take Brendan Rodgers away.

I am not a liverpool fan, but I choked up during the pre game chanting and singing. absolutely amazing.Rams Fanny wrote:Those five minutes before kickoff were incredible. Hopefully the game can be just as good.degenerasian wrote:Who's awake? Biggest game in the world starting.
And the game was also phenomenal. I just wish that Suarez wasn't such a twat - it would make it much easier to admire his skills.

Her Wiki page lists her as a Model, Call Girl, Vedette (singing showgirl seems the appropriate definition). Call girl? It also looks like she dated Maradonna before Lopez, so you know she is classy.

It's neither. It's not a goal cause it didn't go in the net and it's not a penalty cause it's not a foul. These rules are clear even if common sense dictates otherwise.

Oh Arsenal.
On that goal, Vermaelen was about six inches from making contact with Jarvis' face with his cleat. That could have been a penalty if not for the goal.

It was Koscielny, not Vermaelen. And a high kick is an indirect kick, so it wouldn't have been a penalty, but a clusterfuck of an indirect kick on the edge of the 6 yard box.
Degen, I hope you called out Giroud before that brilliant goal. That was pure class, especially since he had a solid collision with a defender right before he took that ball down and finished with his weaker foot. Giroud is a different type of striker. He is slow and isn't going to run around to make things happen. He plays with his back to the defenders, controls long passes and hold defenders off the ball until he gets support. On the quick one-touch passing plays Arsenal attempt, Giroud is extremely good at controlling and distributing, especially for a guy his size. He is a decent finisher, but not as accurate as I would like. He also gets a lot great saves against him because he doesn't quite have the power some snipers do.
I forgot to DVR the game, but planned on watching it tonight on NBCSports Extra. For some reason, they aren't showing this game on the website. I thought they showed every game? What's the deal? I am still pissed that the site has a 15 second "no spoiler" time, where you can click a button to hide all scores, yet when you watch a game, it shows you all of the goals at the bottom of the screen, and you can't scroll. Who the fuck designed that? Basically you get spoilers blocked for every game except the one you are watching.

Yes, you're right on both fronts. I realized I got my defenders wrong when I saw Vermaelen later and he was No. 5 not No. 6.The Sybian wrote:Brontoburglar wrote:Oh Arsenal.

I am still learning this soccer thing, dammit. The World Cup can't get here fast enough, though I saw the new US kits in person last week and I have no idea what I'm going to do for a jersey this year.

So Everton will get to 78 points in a year where they needed to get to 79. Awesome.
I guess I can take some amusement in the joylessness with which Arsenal is about to cap their 79 point, FA Cup winning season. The horror.

Re: All threads are temporary. This one's about soccer.
I have a soccer fan question. I, uh, have multiple Sporting KC jerseys that I purchased last year. They all have one star on them (from the 2000 MLS Cup) and now there are two stars on the jerseys. Sporting is letting you bring your old jerseys in and they'll put second stars on them for a small fee. Should I do it so that I have two stars on my jerseys? Or do I look like I didn't just jump on the bandwagon with one star on my jersey and can have them as a "holy shit these are from when my team actually won something" moment?
I realize this question means a whole shit ton in the grand scheme of things, but I'm a nerd when it comes to the Sporting stuff I've purchased. I definitely have more of it than I do Chiefs stuff.

No worries, I was hoping that didn't come off dickish. I started refereeing travel soccer when I was 12, and I am a rules nerd. Just this weekend I drove past a travel soccer game and wished I was on the fielding officiating, not playing. I truly loved and miss it. Gives you a completely different perspective on the game, as you really need to anticipate what players are going to do, who you will need to watch (offsides, where the ball is going to go, cheapshot behind the play...). Plus you get either a whistle or a flag!Brontoburglar wrote: Yes, you're right on both fronts. I realized I got my defenders wrong when I saw Vermaelen later and he was No. 5 not No. 6.

As for the jersey, what do you mean? Not sure if you want to get one, which player to get, or what? I am still getting jerked around by the Alibaba seller, but at least they keep extending my time to get a refund. I ordered another shirt, and it came within 20 days and it was very good quality. T-shirt, not jersey. But they did advertise the jersey as AAAAA+ Thailand quality, so you know it's good.

I have the jerseys already and the players. But MLS teams do the stars above the crests to signify the Cups won. So mine looks like this:
![Image](http://i.imgur.com/7ngUY2Ql.jpg)
I could have it look like this:
![Image](http://m.mlssoccer.com/sites/league/files/FORMATTED_Stars.jpg)
IS THE SECOND STAR WORTH IT?
(This is something I probably don't care about if, you know, my teams actually won something on a fairly regular basis)

Haven't the uniforms changed? I would go with the stars that belong on the kit. They did not have 2 stars when they wore that shirt, so you keep the one star.
Can't believe they would charge you. DC United does this sort of thing free in the stadium store on game days (but on the other hand most recently that has been updating the sponsors on the jersey).

Bronto, I was asking about the US jerseys, as I haven't seen them in the flesh. I ordered an Altidore home jersey, but since I need to cancel and Altidore's form worries me since he isn't even making the 18 for the worst team in the Prem, I am thinking about getting a different name. Bradley is the likely choice, but I really like Aron Johannsson. Then I think about how idiotic it probably is to get the name of a kid 14 years younger than me on the back of my shirt. Decisions, decisions.

The red is BRIGHT. I was taken aback, and I don't want a jersey with a collar. I imagine I'll end up going with the bomb pop jersey. If SKC didn't have any players on the USMNT I'd be confused as hell as to get too, but I think I'm going to go with Zusi. I think. I already have a Besler jersey and shirsey.

Didn't Fox do this last year OR didn't NBC announce this at the beginning of the contract? This sounds like old news for some reason.

How about Bale's tournament winner from the Copa Del Rey yesterday? He was out on the track and still out ran the Barca defender. Also Barca's goalie situation is not good. Especially with the potential transfer ban.

I liked the relegation commercials NBCSN was running last night. Or maybe not the commercials themselves, but the fact that they're selling end of season matches for crappy teams proves relegation is a fantastic practice.
