This is about to get ugly.
the 'trump family' also demanded that they stop counting votes. how'd that go?
I get that, but a lot of these states like PA have a Republican controlled senate where this may become an issue. I think Georgia is also Republican controlled.
One positive is they need the Gov signature in this so won’t fly in PA, but Georgia may be an issue since it’s Republican controlled.

This was my unspoken fear for months. A state can vote 70% for Biden, and the Electors can still vote for Trump. Really can't do anything about that. Again, this is why 270 isn't enough. Need a couple states as cushion in case a state goes rogue. It seems insane, but if Trump is actually able to convince people Biden somehow stole the election, maybe someone will think they are a true Patriot and vote Trump even though their state voted Biden.

The problem with this scenario is that the EC vote is in the middle of December and would come after 30 days of coverage about President-Elect Biden and his incoming Cabinet, etc. There's no way it would be treated as anything other than a coup d'etat.

I don't think it is possible in many states to defy the popular vote results. From https://www.nass.org/node/131 in Nevada you have to follow the popular vote. If you fail to do so you get replaced until someone does it.
I agree to serve as a presidential elector and to vote only for the nominees for President and Vice President of the party or the independent candidates who received the highest number of votes in this State at the general election.
the Secretary of State shall accept both ballots; (b) Does not present both ballots, presents an unmarked ballot or presents a ballot marked with a vote that does not conform with the pledge: (1) The Secretary of State shall refuse to accept either ballot of the presidential elector; and (2) The Secretary of State shall deem the presidential elector’s position vacant. The vacancy must be filled pursuant to state law.

Well that makes me feel much better, thanks. I always thought the purpose of electors was that the Founding Fathers didn't trust the people, and wanted to add a fail safe in case the people elected a wildly unqualified conman, possibly one whose fame hinged on being a reality TV star.

His last action was to prepare legislation to rename the names of bases that have Confederate generals, so I doubt it. He was on the way out even if Trump won. This is a nothingburger.
Those statements are a bit scary. You can't be president and allege that an election was rigged. Even if you believe that you have to sue and shut up. Wars have been fought over this stuff.

broken record time: The military generals spoke loudly during the protests that they would not be pawns in any of Trump's unlawful bullshit.
