This fuckin' guy...totally, absolute delusional lunatic, surrounded by boot-licking toady synchophants.

Trump deflects blame for Jan. 6 silence, says he wanted to march to Capitol
Former president Donald Trump voiced regret Wednesday over not marching to the U.S. Capitol the day his supporters stormed the building, and he defended his long silence during the attack by claiming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others were responsible for ending the deadly violence.

“I thought it was a shame, and I kept asking why isn’t she doing something about it? Why isn’t Nancy Pelosi doing something about it? And the mayor of D.C. also. The mayor of D.C. and Nancy Pelosi are in charge,” Trump said of the Jan. 6, 2021, riot in a 45-minute interview with The Washington Post. “I hated seeing it. I hated seeing it. And I said, ‘It’s got to be taken care of,’ and I assumed they were taking care of it.”
The whole thing is completely bananas.

And the same day, said he regrets he didn't join the insurgents at the Capital, "I wanted to, but the Secret Service told me I wasn't allowed to." Amazing how often he talks out both sides of his mouth, and the whole fucking Party lets him have it both ways.

1.) It was a terrible thing and Pelosi and the DC Police Chief Should have stopped it.
2.) It was a beautiful event full of patriots offering peace and love to the Capitol Police and I wish I could have joined them.

So they let Fredo in on the plan to steal the election, before the election was even called:

ETA: cleared up the date of when it happened. After Election Day, but before the election was called.

Every year when I do my taxes, I'm reminded of another reason to hate Trump. His elimination of mortgage interest deductions and cap on property tax deductions both fuck me. Sure, it may be sound overall policy, but it costs me a shitload of money.

The cap on state and local taxes (i.e. property taxes) fucks me, too, but you are very much mistaken if you believe you can’t deduct the interest on your primary home’s mortgage.

By raising the standard deduction, the 2017 tax law made the mortgage interest deduction less significant for many people (who live in areas with lower house prices).

Oh, you can deduct it, but it doesn't really do anything. You have to have over $24K in deductions to start making a difference. I guess I just need to buy a much-more expensive house.

I believe the issue is the standard deduction is higher than the itemized deductions (incl mortgage interest) when the local/state tax is capped. At least that’s what I’m seeing. I had an exit in 2020. Did quite well but my state/local deduction (combined rate of over 7%) was capped so I paid a lot of non-federal income tax that was not deductible. So the standard deduction is taken rather than itemizing.

ETA: saw others beat me to the punch.

Yes, in my area, where home prices are generally low, the standard deductions are greater than itemizing because the mortgage interest was the single biggest we had prior to the change.

And he even said it was to punish people in states that didn't vote for him. The Trump "cuts" also made my home office deductions ineffective, which doubly sucks now that my wife and I are both working from home.

Lucky enough to live in a North Jersey town where our taxes have still yet to creep over 10K so we haven't been severely burned. Right-leaning members of my wife's family who live in pricier towns were nailed. I kept my mouth shut during those conversations.

(though we ended up owing around $1000 for our 2021 taxes rather than getting that much back because of the pre-payment of the child tax credits - thanks Biden!!)

Basically, since Pence didn't go along with it, we still have a democracy. For now.

What more does Merrick Garland need? What else has to come out for Democrats in Congress to scream out loud and start calling people traitors on TV?
