Woke up to another blisteringly cold day, and suddenly had a feeling that something like this would happen.

As psychic flashes go, not too surprising, but still disconcerting to have the president of the United States sounding like the dumbest man in the room.

Yes, that is a known White Power sign.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

But buddy claims he is proud if his "Jewish heritage."

Is this true, or is this like saying he has a "Jew lawyer?"

Well, holy shit. And googling "white power sign" gets you numerous pictures of pro Trump trolls flashing it.

Naturally some of those photos are juxtaposed with non white supremacists doing the same thing and then being condescending about it.

I always thought that was the "ok" hand signal. Even John Cena used it for his "hustle, loyalty, respect" logo.

It was. Just like Pepe the Frog used to just be a frog (I think?).

Anyway, it seems that when the white nationalists do the W sign, they do the thumb-and-forefinger in a weird way, so it doesn't really look like an "O".

The Tweet is removed, so I didn't see it, but I've heard the OK sign is a trolling thing from millennial Alt-Right guys. They started doing it to laugh at Libtards freaking out that the OK sign was a White Power sign.

Sounds precisely how white power ideals get to hold on in plain sight at the close of the year 2017.

Pretty much a rhetorical question by now.

It all comes from the top. Think of Trump denigrating the FBI and belittling the CIA - what kind of an idiot picks a fight with these groups?

Yeah, we've been talking about this since the spring of 2016. Especially when it comes to foreign policy, no one of any consequence wanted to align themselves with Trump. They were desperate to fill out a team, so complete shitty, unqualified and in the case of guys like Manafort and those in his circle, dirty/corrupt people got dropped in all over the place.

Now, I knew they were incompetent back then... I had no idea until we got to the convention just how stupid they were. Fucking with the platform to take a pro-Russia stance after all his weird overtures to Putin really only made sense if something shady as fuck was going on.

It is still going to be very difficult to prosecute anyone for all this. Unless there are some significant other shoes to drop.

I agree here.

However, every major Intel agency plus the FBI and CIA are following the money with this shit. There have been 4 indictments. There are concurrent state level investigations being pursued in case of some blanket pardons. Mueller has a serious fucking Justice League assembled. And if Mueller is removed (and by extension Rosenstein), there might be an actual violent revolt.

I'm just hoping Nunes, Jordan, and a significant chunk of the GOP gets engulfed in this too. It would be beautiful.

I read a FoxNews article about this NYT article that popped into my news feed. One of the worst written, insincere articles I've ever seen. The premise was that the NYT can't handle the truth, that Trump is innocent, and since the Steele dossier was proven fake, they need to invent a new reason for the FBI to have begun an investigation. They seem to misunderstand the difference between "not 100% verified" and disproven. Also seems probable that in a matter this enormous, new facts and evidence will come out. I'm just glad they didn't have a comment section on the site, I would have lost my mind.

I just looked up this Downer guy. Not only is he Australia's Ambassador to the UK, but he was a leader of one of the major parties down under, as well as being the Minister of Foreign Affairs for more than a decade. His jaw must have dropped when this pisher from the trump campaign started telling him this stuff.

So does Bannon (1) flat deny saying, (2) strategically deny saying it to invalidate the book or (3) claim he was just fucking with the author. I'm assigning about 0% to "stand by the quote and force a wedge between Bannonites and Trump".

Bannon is essentially at war with the White House (if not Trump himself), so I assume the truth is he may not actually totally believe the quotes but will full-throatedly stand behind them.

This oped in today's NYTimes, from FusionGPS, the company responsible for the Steele Dossier, is absolutely bananas...

The Republicans’ Fake Investigations

We suggested investigators look into the bank records of Deutsche Bank and others that were funding Mr. Trump’s businesses. Congress appears uninterested in that tip: Reportedly, ours are the only bank records the House Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed.

We told Congress that from Manhattan to Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., and from Toronto to Panama, we found widespread evidence that Mr. Trump and his organization had worked with a wide array of dubious Russians in arrangements that often raised questions about money laundering. Likewise, those deals don’t seem to interest Congress.

Gives us this tidbit:

She treated her father with a degree of detachment, even irony, going so far as to make fun of his comb-over to others. She often described the mechanics behind it to friends: an absolutely clean pate — a contained island after scalp-reduction surgery — surrounded by a furry circle of hair around the sides and front, from which all ends are drawn up to meet in the center and then swept back and secured by a stiffening spray. The color, she would point out to comical effect, was from a product called Just for Men — the longer it was left on, the darker it got. Impatience resulted in Trump’s orange-blond hair color.

And also that Ivanka thinks she's going to be the first woman president.
