Got into a discussion with someone who was worried that this Kevin Brown thing was going to be a distraction to the team. And I said that I’d be willing to wager that less than 5 players on that team would know or care who Kevin Brown is or what the issue was. They then told me that the players have to hear this stuff and probably are concerned over someone getting suspended from their job and the current lease situation. I was just floored that they could think a guy like Jorge Mateo or Colton Cowser would have any clue on the Orioles lease situation w Baltimore city.

Went to the game yesterday and got on Jumbotron twice! My oldest knew and worked w the camera guy at a summer camp and he came over twice to put us up on the big board.

With your recent successes, you should call it "the Tron".

O’s fans – I’m a storyteller. And never want to be a part of the story. The most compelling story in baseball right now is the story of the league-leading Baltimore Orioles – the best, most exciting young team in the American League.
Unfortunately, recent media reports have mischaracterized my relationship with my adopted hometown Orioles. The fact is that I have a wonderful relationship with the organization, and our ownership and front office has fully supported me since 2019 when I first came aboard.
I ask that everyone disregard the distracting noise of the past few days. I have worked closely with O’s SVP Greg Bader for the past four years, and John Angelos and I have a solid dialogue based on mutual respect. We are all good here in Birdland!
I am proud to be an Oriole and call Baltimore home, and there is no place in baseball I’d rather be now and for the long haul. Go O’s!

Pretty much. Curious if what he/they meant about his "mischaracterized relationship with the Orioles" has something to do with the otherwise free press poking around wondering how such an innocuous statement could get a play-by-play broadcaster in trouble, cuz we all know who owns MASN.

Cedric Mullins went into #BeastMode today in the O's 5-3 victory. He robbed Seattle of a HR by scaling the wall in CF and catching a ball that had left the yard, and then in the 10th, he his a two run shot.

Oh, and Wander Franco (22 yo) is rumored to have had inappropriate relations with a 14 year old girl.

This is impossible …

Sunday's promotion at Tropicana Field was the Wander Franco snapback hat for fans 14 and under.

He entered the game as a defensive replacement in the 7th, I think.

So there's a lot more to this Wander Franco story.

My first reaction to reading this update is human traffickers were leveraging Franco and he just said 'fuck this shit' and went to the Rays FO for help.

Aaron Nola hasn’t had a single inning this year when he gave up one run. Every inning he’s pitched has been either zero or crooked numbers.

Hard to think of a comp to this Wander Franco stuff.

Trevor Bauer had a 136 ERA+ over his last five years in the majors.
And his one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death.

Gah. I still can't figure out what to do with my Russell jersey from 2016.

I was hoping to remove the name and replace it with Suzuki, and I even took it to the alterations place for that, but with the way the letters are sewn in, they are still visible even after being removed. I could have them add a panel and put Suzuki's name on that, but that would look so crappy.

So anyway, I now have an "Ussell" jersey if anyone is interested.

Headed to the bottom of the 7th, the O's lead the A's, 9-0.

Gunnar Henderson is 3-4, with a double, triple and a home run.

He'll get a shot for the cycle as he's due to hit 4th in the 8th.

He hit an RBI double on a lined shot down the RF line that ricocheted off the wall in foul territory into right field.

I probably would've stopped at first.

Barely watch but the 2023 Yankees are a beautiful ship to watch the Sox and braves sink. Same for Baltimore on the other end. I can enjoy rooting for them as long as the Sox keep winning every decade or two.
