So sounds like he'll probably be booked for the DUI and not for domestic violence, which if so, I'm not gonna cry that he's gonna spend 36 hours in jail.

Seems like a pretty huge red flag that he wasn't allowed into the house.

Maybe. But i could see facts where pretty much anyone could get caught up in getting my shit. Lost easier to say and do when you have the means to get more. Not so easy when that wallet, keys, clothes are the only ones you have. That said, DV types tend to do that kind of thing often so I get it but does open the door for overzealous cops and prosecutors. Burglary or battery probably enough.

Though it's certainly possible that Jones is that freak human that maintains the athleticism into his 30s like TO did.

EDIT: And I'm not saying a team shouldn't go after Julio Jones, just that I personally would not be expecting a great season from him no matter what.

In honor of Julio's first TD on the season

I'm not sure what I love more about this take: that a local beat writer decided to shit on the punter (who was really bad), or that the punter's performance was deemed to be that important to the coach's execution of his strategic vision (which it was).

That writer has an interesting perspective.

Imagine a punter so terrible that he sabotaged a coach's brilliant gameplans.

Now imagine a coach so awful that he wouldn't have cut the punter in week 4.

What a shit take.

“We’re going to kick you in the teeth, all right?” Campbell told reporters. “And when you punch us back, we’re going to smile at you. And when you knock us down, we’re going to get back up and on the way up, we’re going to bite a kneecap off, all right? And then it’s going to take us two more shots to knock us down. And on the way up, we’re going to take your other kneecap. … Before long, we’re going to be the last one standing.”
I'll be surprised if this lasts over four full seasons.
Not officially wrong yet.

I was, however, wrong about this one. 24 wins (prediction was made one year prior to the 17th game, so predicted win percentage was .328, actual win percentage .358).

That's ok, DSafe. It's still not as bad as how Jamele Hill framed it.

Meyer is a great coach, but you have to question his physical ability to deal with the stress, which is considerably higher in the NFL. Most big-time college coaches get to have some semblance of a life even during the season, but that's not true at the NFL level. Trevor Lawrence or not, that's going to be a decent sized rebuilding job also.
Because it is. He's going to fail miserably and it will be glorious.
Things going very smoothly so far, eh?
We should probably get a pool going on the health issue that will cause him to step away sometime in the 2022 season.
We nailed this prediction though!

So the Titans are taking Brian Callahan as their next head coach and there is speculation they may re-hire Mike Munchak to coach the offensive line.

What should the Titans expect from Callahan?

My apologies for fooling anyone by digging up this old thread in an effort to highlight how poorly I judged the Campbell hiring, which is possibly my worst prediction in this iteration of the Swamp. ("Steph Curry's peak is being a combo guard off the bench" is going to be very tough to beat, but should be floating around one of the older versions.)

Just so you're not alone (and since its on topic), my "football will be unrecognizable in 203_(?)" also isn't looking very good. We've kinda reversed course a lot and decided that actually its great to not give a fraction of a shit about other people over the last decade.

Obviously we can meet that goal with our fantastic roster. Currently we are looking for an OLT, ORG, C, RB#1, WR#2/3, TE#2, NT, DRE, MLB, MLB, CB#1, FS, NB and depth at OL, ILB, and Safety.

So the cupboard is not looking to great right now.
