Though I feel like the timespan available for relevant flashbacks is a lot smaller than was the case in This Is Us (same show creator) so not sure if that will hit a wall at some point.
Oh wow, I had no idea it was the same show creator!! I just saw the trailer for season 2 of TIU and am super pumped for that.

I feel like my TV show roster had kind of fallen into a rut, but now we've had to recharge our Notes file to keep up with everything.

I'm also toying with the idea of rewatching Severance, but this time with my wife, so I can then get into S2 with her down the line. I'm not sure the show is a good fit for her, though, because she tends to be on her phone, and it gets SUPER ANNOYING when three episodes in, she is completely lost.

I am patient about it, to a point. Like, we are on E4 of The Penguin and at the beginning of the last episode I basically reset the plot lines for her. We used to get in pretty big fights about this stuff, but now we just accept that I know she's not paying attn and she lets me catch her up.

You know what. I'm gonna go start drinking. My brain is clearly shot.

(Yes. And I'm blown away that the person who did This Is Us had the capacity for Paradise, and now I'm worried the show is going to hit a brick wall at some point. For the first 2 seasons, This Is Us was a staple in our house. Then it just... wasn't.)

Easily earns the 7.9/10 rating on IMDB.

I watched the first 3 episodes of season 3 and have to say..watching Jack Reacher punch people does make me feel better.

Also I know Pitt is just ER rebooted, but a good hour of TV each week. And yes the ER folks are suing the Pitt folks. Apparently, they could not work out an ER reboot, so the folks creating Pitt just said, okay it is not an ER reboot.

Yeah thanks for the Paradise rec you guys. So good!

While on Hulu, I also realized that I'd never seen S5 of WWDITS. Saw S6, but not 5 somehow. Anyway, I'm not sure why but I haven't laughed at a TV scene this hard in years. Brilliant, all of it.

The creators have specifically mentioned they do not ^want this to become another Lost that suffered bloat and intentionally dragged things out. There’s a ton going on, but IMO every scene has a purpose

Article mentioning they’re aware of your fears.
Episode 7 should allay a bunch of your fears.

I quite liked the story of the librarian but like Jane's a sociopath now and wants all the power and executed a plan of being obtuse enough to make Sinatra think she killed the kid, then happens to walk in as Xavier is going to kill her for having the kid killed but she also knew this was going to happen so from behind Xavier, she manages to shoot Sinatra in the neck as he's in front of her so precisely to make Xavier think she's dead but for her to know for sure that she's gonna be fine?

I liked the idea of Sinatra's fixer being bat shit crazy and ending up beyond her control, but yeah the specifics of how that final confrontation with X and Sinatra worked out were a little goofy.

X leaving made sense but I figured he would have more PPE and more firepower I wanted to know if it's reasonable that a plane would still work after 5+ years in mothballs. And who closed the doors behind him?

Some of the voices-
J.K. Simmons, Steven Yeun, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Zach Quinto, Mark Hamil, Seth Rogen, Nicole Byer, Clancy Brown (the crab from Spongebob), Maherhala Ali, Jon Hamm
Thought that was a very strong first season. Really liked how they basically made a promise in the final episode to follow up on every random sting left dangling throughout the season. Good stuff.
They’ve really kept up with the whole leaving no string dangling thing. This week’s episode was a great concept, maybe resolved (for now) too quick.

I’m hoping no one is going out of their way to watch Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, but this blurb in a review made me chuckle:
Killian Faith-Kelly from GQ wrote:While “watching” With Love, Meghan, I'd often get up to leave the room. (Like I said, boring.) And I kept forgetting to pause it. But this wasn't a kind, “No, don't worry, you keep going" type of gesture towards anyone I was watching with. There was no one else in the room. It just didn't occur to me to hit the pause button, to make sure I didn't miss what was happening. It played on, to no one.

Big news:

‘Ted Lasso’ Is Coming Back
In an interview on Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights,” on Friday morning, Sudeikis said Ted will be coaching a women’s team in the new season.

“It’s daunting, because we told the story we wanted to tell,” he said. “But there’s more there.”
Hmm...wonder why Sudekis decided to do this?

Only speaking from my knowledge about child support in Washington state, it totally comes down to Income Level and number of kids. Its all a formula and the numbers just get plugged in.

I think they have no more than 3, and in Florida (don't think Sudeikis/Wilde are in Florida) CS is calculated by each party's income, how many kids they have, what % of annual overnights each parent has with the kid(s), and a parent gets credit for anything they pay towards: the kids' health insurance, day care expenses, and uncovered medical expenses (prescriptions, copays, etc.).

It's a math equation that spits out a number that says one parent pays the other $xx.xx per month in child support.

That being said, in Florida at least, there's an idea that if the child support calculator throws out a number that far exceeds what the child actually needs, the paying parent can ask the court to order a lower amount to be paid. Dwyane Wade's divorce (pre-Gabrielle Union union) is actually one of the cases relied upon when trying to lower child support for this reason.

The funny thing is that for most people, child support isn't nearly enough to support a child, and there's no recourse in the opposite direction.
