I've been watching it on TV, but its really something to see live. You have to see the whole field to get a sense of the play developing.

And the pitch is HUGE. Its so big the coaching staffs have runners, in bright orange outfits, that run on the field during play to talk strategy with the players.

And there's a ton of pushing and shoving and cheap shots that go on behind the play, or in between goals. Any of which would get a tech in a basketball game, but in AFL its just no big deal.

I still can't get anyone to tell me why they don't have chairs or benches for them when they go into the locker room at half time.

I was watching a game on Friday - Essenden and Port Adelaide and was shocked when they showed the players sitting on the floor and leaning against the wall as they guzzled their Powerade.

Must be a macho thing.

The gf always has to yell GO BLUE! at people in public, even though I think she just found out that they have a football team.

I watched yesterdays stage of the Tour De France, the climb up Mont Ventoux and the crowds were just insane.

1. How do people even get up that mountain? Especially to the finish line.
2. How early do they have to get up there? Days? Weeks?
3. How do 500,000 people camp up a mountain for any sporting event?
4. In reality you can only see the riders for a few minutes. Who camps out days to see a few minutes?

Just amazing how important the Tour is to the French.

not new and not entirely random, but can't figure out where else to post it.

going to my final interview today... yeah, technically i'm still 'working from home' for the TZ folks.. but seeing as to how their finances are shot...

whatever.
got past the linkedin, to hr, to more hr, then to another guy.. now being asked to come in to meet the CEO, the head of HR and the woman in charge of global stuff i'd be doing (running PM)

so... of course suit. and of course its like 110 today in NYC (with humidity, humanity, etc)

all is riding on this boys and girls... really do look forward to getting back into the swing of things.

the random thought.. why am i not nervous?

Can't vouch for the soundtrack, but the film stars Amanda Blow who is (according to imdb) one of the stars of Your Mom Tossed My Salad 8, which, if it is anything like the classic Your Mom Tossed My Salad 3, is well worth three minutes of your time.

I'm like two people removed from a porn star. My wife's cousin had three kids with some dude before she left them. My mom in-law is still close with the kids and their dad's family (his parents were even at our wedding in Vegas). Well the dad recently remarried and had a kid. Not sure what her real name is, but her porn name is Cassidy Clay. We still don't know if his parents have any idea as they're not really all that internet-savvy, but she doesn't hide it too much on social media.

Also learned savvy is not spelled saavy.

I've watched Trapped in a Closet (well, not the whole thing, but about an hour or so). It is amazing. I highly recommend it. I'm a little surprised I could make it that far on something that I look at as a joke, but it kept my attention for some reason.
