Invincible (Amazon Prime) is interesting. I don't know anything about the comics it is based upon but very strong voice talent. First 3 went up today and the story is different. I am not a fan of the animation style but probably will hang with it.
Some of the voices-
J.K. Simmons, Steven Yeun, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Zach Quinto, Mark Hamil, Seth Rogen, Nicole Byer, Clancy Brown (the crab from Spongebob), Maherhala Ali, Jon Hamm
Thought that was a very strong first season. Really liked how they basically made a promise in the final episode to follow up on every random sting left dangling throughout the season. Good stuff.
They’ve really kept up with the whole leaving no string dangling thing. This week’s episode was a great concept, maybe resolved (for now) too quick.

We haven’t discussed Severance much lately. The last episode was all over the place. Hard to keep up with all the sub-plots. Season finale next week.
I love Severance but admittedly I have to watch a recap show on Youtube after every episode to fill in everything that I missed.

So working my way through Running Point. It is not bad. Not great. Feels like they are trying to stuff multiple seasons into 7 episodes because they either don't have depth in the writers room, figure today's audience has no attention or are afraid of not getting a renewal. But fun to see folks from parks and rec show up (Jim O'Heir, Jon Glaser).

Yeah, it was a fun, light show to watch with the wife. Nothing ground breaking or great. Didn’t realize until after we finished, but Jeannie Buss was a producer and borrowed from her real life. Not flattering towards her father.

The result is the harrowing but heartfelt Adolescence, a four-parter that follows the Miller family, whose lives are blown apart when 13-year-old schoolboy Jamie is arrested in a dawn raid for killing a female classmate called Katie.
The "inspiration" sounds absolutely ghastly...
The arrival of searing new series Adolescence could hardly be more timely. The drama dropped on Netflix just as it emerged that crossbow killer Kyle Clifford had searched online for misogynistic podcasts and watched Andrew Tate videos hours before murdering three female members of the Hunt family. Then again, such stories hit headlines with depressing regularity. Perhaps Adolescence would have felt unnervingly on-the-nose whenever it launched.

Also I know Pitt is just ER rebooted, but a good hour of TV each week. And yes the ER folks are suing the Pitt folks. Apparently, they could not work out an ER reboot, so the folks creating Pitt just said, okay it is not an ER reboot.
I thought Pitt was going just going to be another ER, I wasn’t even that interested in starting it. But it's so much more/better than I remember ER being. Someone on Reddit described it as competency porn and I thought that was a perfect description.
Would have to think about it some more, but it might be the best, most intense episode of any show I can remember. Felt like it was over in 10 minutes.

Someone posted “Pitt episode 12” in my Facebook feed and got a huge response. Sounds like I may need to give this show a shot.

I think it’s become the show I have been looking forward to most week-to-week, over Severance, White Lotus, etc.
I thought it was fine...not the best thing ever but not top of the worst list either. At first it felt like a rushed ending but the more I think
about it the more it makes sense. My main problem is the plane he is flying...I don't think it has the fuel range to get to Atlanta
I think I missed a major reveal about X, because I had a more basic question around how even knows how to fly. I am the son of a pilot and have nerded out on this stuff... It's not like driving a car, the instrumentation can vary pretty wildly from plane to plane. But on a more basic level, did they drop him being a pilot prior to the Secret Service gig?

In the ep where we learned his backstory with his dad, I’m pretty sure his dad said he could have been a commercial pilot, and already had his license, before becoming a secret service agent.

Season finale of Severance answered enough questions (and raised enough unanswered ones) for a satisfying season ender. 9/10.
100% agree
I would like expensive whiskey.
We only have beer & wine...
What am I, 12?

Yeah, thanks, I knew I just missed it because otherwise that's a very weird thing to just assume someone can do.

I wanted those guys to be from Jackson St University (where Tramell Tillman caught the show style bug), but alas, they weren't the Sonic Boom of the South. They were all professional musicians.

Like Sybian recently, I've been doing a rewatch of Breaking Bad and God DAMN this show is so good. I'm into the middle of S5 now and just watched the scene with Walt and Hank in the garage. The acting in this show is unreal.
The way that Adolescence is shot makes you feel like you're right there the whole time. It's intense as fuck.
How does that work with the entire episode just one long scene on one camera? Are there still edits or do they just have to shoot the entire episode with no cuts?

Watch it just for the acting and cinematography anyway though. Definitely won't regret it.

We’re halfway through Adolescence and for a second there I was pissed basketball was on tonight. It is shot so well and it adds so much to the suspense for me.
DS Frank reminds me so much of my girlfriend from late 2000 to mid-2003.
I think it's his dad. Faked his own murder and hiding in Thailand.

My fawning over Adolescence the other night was prior to watching the last episode and, I just gotta say...Eh.

How many big series will Walton Goggins have running in parallel fallout, white lotus, gemstones, invincible. He is covering HBO, Netflix, and Amazon prime right now.
He also has the press your luck movie (April 4 release), queen of the ring (March 7 theater release), and uninvited (April 11th wide release) as movies

Fallout, too, on Prime.
