Mauricio Pocchetino - Tottenham sit in 9th place, three points from third, three points from 17th (probably about what is expected of them)
Luke Shaw - initial fitness concerns from Van Gaal, and he's not looked good in any ManU game I've seen this year
Adam Lallana
Dejan Lovren
Calum Chambers - has not looked good at all in the Arsenal games I've seen this year.
Rickie Lambert
have to disagree on Shaw, he's been united's best defender the past three games. Today he was by far the best. he's gonna come good.

To be fair, I wrote this at halftime of the West Brom game 2.5 games ago. He's looked better since. He better be ready for prime time with the Rojo injury.

What the fuck was Smalling thinking with the first yellow? Defenders just can't do stupid shit like that. Must conserve your yellows for times when you need it, especially against a top side.

Pochettino has clearly decided which members of Spurs bloated squad are going to play, and which ones will not. Spurs fans are starting to question him as a Manager, but instead, they should be patient and realize that probably more than fans of any other team, we have vastly overrated the talent at our disposal.

Not even two years on from Bale's departure and it is sickeningly obvious that he was responsible for turning a mediocre team into a Champions League club. The English announcer - Danny Mills I think - summed it up nicely during yesterday's dreary Spurs-Villa game when he said that when you lose a player like Bale or Suarez, it doesn't matter how much money you get in return, your team is just never going to be the same.

I think Chambers has been solid. Not great, but considering he was thrown in out of position, he doing well. I think he shows a ton of promise.
Chambers was a beast this weekend. He Cherundled down the sideline all day, consistently beating defenders and delivering very good crosses. Probably double digit crosses. Then he scored a goal.

On a week when my starters on my fantasy squad did fuck all, Chambers netted 18 fantasy points on my bench.

This is the greatest commercial for Puma's new Wenger jacket. Zippers specially designed for Arsene, since he is a man too focused to properly operate a zipper. Gotta love his willingness to make fun of himself.

i think that Smalling, Evans and jones have all played themselves out of the club. obviously they aren't all going to go right away but none of them can stay on the pitch, either through injury or stupidity. i think that if lvg gets a CB in january, someone will go. The other two will go in the summer, especially after Thorpe, mcnair and blackett get significant time this season.

it's too bad. Smalling and jones have all the talent to be really good defenders but just can't figure out how to play at a high level. Smalling will probably go to Arsenal next summer and jones or Evans will end up at Spurs or Sunderland or newcastle or some mid table club like that. jones is easily the best of the three but his style doesn't lend itself to sustained time on the field. he's just too reckless.

Did you guys know that Thomas Dooley is now coaching the Philippines?

The SouthEast Asian Champions occur every other year. Philippines made the semis for the first time ever in 2012 and they have made the semis again this year.

They will play a 2-legged semi against Thailand, Vietnam will play Malaysia

Emmanuel Adebayor's slump finally explained.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 95945.html
Last month Adebayor, who has scored just two goals in 12 matches this season, claimed that he cut ties with his mother, Alice, because she was using Juju - a form of African witchcraft - on him.
Not so fast says his brother -
"[Emmanuel] has been brainwashed by these Muslim alfas - spiritual men - who prophesise when he scores goals and why he is not playing well," Kola told the Sun on Sunday.
Great player to have on the team - and at the bargain rate of 170,000 pounds per week. Why no one at Spurs knew that Adebayor's alfas were Arsenal fans is beyond me.

Here is a long article that SuperJew linked on the twitter, about What went wrong at Tottenham Hotspur?

I'm curious to hear swamp rxn to this analysis.

And here is a Dave Edmunds tune with Juju in it. Me and Maggie couldn't wait a day longer: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Love that song.

And I love Juju Music itself.

But Adebayor? Not so much.

And the Cartilage Free Captain Blog (named after legend Ledley King) is a go to place for many Spurs fans. That is a fantastic article that sums up the last half-decade of bizarreness at White Hart Lane. I would have bet my house on Chelsea winning the CL in 2012. Bothe their semi-final win and the final game were slow, painful death for Spurs fans. The feeling of helplessness was sickening, that was the year of the 10 point lead on Arsenal, of Redknapp forgetting what his job was supposed to be and of a run from the end of February until late April that saw Spurs win one of nine games...

Brutal.

But an even handed article that ends on a hopeful note. By the end of the weekend, Spurs will have travelled to Stamford Bridge and hosted resurgent Man U. I don't expect much, but am hoping that the team can end its run of humiliating defeats to the better teams.

For those of you who listen to the Men in Blazers podcast, you may have noticed Davo let slip that Rebecca Lowe told him she once tried out for the Palace Crystals (CP cheerleading squad). I hired Donald Trump's team of investigators, and unlike their quest to prove Obama's birth certificate was fake, they found the evidence. This picture also proves that Diego Costa stole her jazz hands goal celebration.

I am done watching Spurs for a while.

It's bad enough that they are bad enough to belong in the bottom half of the league. What's worse is to have to watch Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela blunder their way through a game and realize that these tow guys - and Paulinho - represent the bulk of the Gareth Bale money. Three absolutely horrible, expensive signings and yet they are trotted out game after game like some sort or reminder of what the team has lost as well as the incompetence of the men running the side.

You would have thought the 10 million Euro signing of Lloris would be a bargain and the best signing in the last few years. Spurs would be relegation bound without him.
