I didn't see any of it but I'm confident that's the best round Tiger has had this year. Nobody broke par in the last 12 groups, and the Open is all about surviving your Thurs/Fri afternoon round. If the weather gets wacky tomorrow then Tiger and Abraham Ancer are the co-favorites.

I’m surely going to draw a “fuck off” from AB for this take but Tiger Woods of the mid-00s got so much hype that he managed to pull off the nearly impossible feat of simultaneously being the greatest athlete in the history of his sport and being significantly overrated.

I think it's possible if you're comparing them historically as opposed to current competitors. But don't necessarily agree. Overrated doesn't equal overhyped.

I never enjoyed watching Tiger mainly because I always root for the underdog, so now I'm rooting for him.

Tiger needs to chase down Spieth and 4 other people. ESPN shot their wad once Tiger got into a tie for first but I think his chances are minimal. I’d be shocked if he’s 4+ strokes better than Spieth tomorrow. The real story is if Spieth can go back-to-back and not if Tiger can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

Problem isn't being 4 strokes better than speith. That happens fairly often in a single round whether or not there are 25 mph winds
