Expect heads to roll. How can the head of the Spanish FA keep his job after firing a coach a couple of days before the tournament?

I prefer a strong passing game (and not the tiki-taka shit) where wingers are used to full effect.

Yup in soccer you are running your ass off for not many chances. When you get a chance or a set play launch it down the flanks or into the box.

Denmark could have played for three more days and they weren't going to score.

Kasper is intimidatingly handsome but I feel bad for him anyway.

And I drank a one beer at the start of the #CRODEN game and fell asleep at some point during HT and woke up at the 80’ or so mark and really enjoyed the game.

I don't understand Marquez being in the game for many reasons, but going against Brazil at 39 is the biggest.

I don't know the Mexican roster well enough to know what the options are at center back. Because Brazil is KILLING them down the flanks, which is really stretching their back line, and it's only going to take one instance of the ball getting popped into an overlapping run up the gut. Matter of time. Mexico also really stopped being dangerous after about 30 minutes or so.

I don't know why in 2018 players need to play act. Especially on a big team like Brazil.

Yesterdays games were so good. No faking at all.

They're doing it to waste time. They're not doing any of that shit if the score is tied or if they're down a goal.

I'm no directing this at you degen... I had the "pleasure" of watching this game in the cafeteria here and a bunch of chuckleheads were all "soccer sucks, they are so soft, they're barely getting touched and now they're rolling around on the ground."

I had enough and turned around "Hey, you know how a team is up by a touchdown late in the game, and they start milking the play clock and just running the ball up the gut? Or in basketball, when they just pass it around to burn down the shot clock?

When you see guys rolling around in the 75th minute of a soccer game, that's what they're doing. It's not about softness."

That shut them up, at least.

1) This is a big cafeteria, go somewhere else you assholes. There were clearly a bunch of dudes wanting to watch the game.
2) You know they wanted to call the guys on the screen homos. I'm actually shocked one of them didn't just come out and say it.

And, look, what sucks is that NO ONE likes that shit. One of the things I really like about Ronaldo and Messi is that, yes, they will occasionally sell a foul if it's in the right spot on the field. But for the most part, they're playing it straight... And they get kicked A LOT.

Neymar is just a donkey. And the reason that guy DIDN'T get a card, despite 3 officials being right there, is because Neymar has a well-earned reputation for being an ass.

There are always "they are diving" comments in the cafeteria. Even on really hard fouls.

I always say you run at full speed towards me a I'll kick you and see what happens.

It's easier to fall. If players didn't fall when fouled they would pull muscles or tear ligaments.

And these jokers had the temerity to bring up basketball, as an example of a sport why guys don't dive. I didn't even engage on that one.

The crazy thing was that the first half had zero play acting. Also, that a rough cafeteria you're hanging out in.

Well, yeah, because the game was level. That was the point I was trying to make with these lunkheads.

I work for a large water utility, our HQ has a very interesting mix of desk jockeys and guys/gals that do work in the field but have a desk here or just come to HQ for grub.

These are good ole boys... And mostly they're fun to be around. But, you know, soccer is still seen by some as a commie sport played by homosexuals.

Non soccer people think everytime a player falls hes diving.

Courtois too close to his near post on that shot?

At 3:15 p.m ET (57th minute) it was -350/+400/+1000 (Japan/Draw/Belgium)

Japan play an awesome style. Love that they came out swinging against a HUGELY favored team today.

Also, someone clearly got to this announcing crew and told them to get a little more lively. Especially Meola... Much better energy out of him today.
