The crazy thing for me was that I expected it. Feels EXACTLY like I felt the season I fell in love with them, (spring 99).

4 English teams in the final 8.

City/United? Liverpool/United?

The possibilities...

And Spurs are going to draw Barcelona. I guarantee it.

“Jesus goddamn Christ,” is something I loudly said to myself as Hugo Lloris gifted Liverpool two points in stoppage time.

It is somewhat perplexing he continues to be on the team sheet so often. Probably has a role, but not sure first name on the team sheet is it.

Just saying he’s always in the lineup.

I don't get this lineup even a little.

Walker - Laporte - Otamendi - Delph
Gundogan - Fernandinho - Silva
Mahrez - Aguero - Sterling

No Bernardo or Danilo in the 18.

Even if you say banged up Aguero is better than healthy Jesus, you can argue 5 of the 10 selections.

I am drained.

Kane must be done for the year, and being a pessimist I don't have much hope for the game at the FFP Stadium, but what a win for Spurs.

My daughter was screaming about it, but it wasn't even a challenge by Delph. He kicked the ball - just a terrible accident.

And yeah - Mahrez might have just had one of those seasons when Leicester won the title. Only City can spend 60 million pounds on a part timer.

I didn't watch the game so this is being colored by what I read on Twitter, but if Man U's plan was to park the bus at Old Trafford and still ended up losing 1-0, what's the plan when they have to go to Nou Camp?

I'm not sure it was a park the bus strategy. Barca are just way more talented than Man U.

I don’t think they parked the bus at all. Man U controlled posession for a big part of both halves. Just didn’t really have any ideas of how to get shots.

ETA: they played with a “back 5” but really young was forward all the time so it wasn’t a true five back approach. Young was almost a (useless) attacking middle with the exception of one cross that was just too much.

They started that way, and Barca dominated possession for the first 20 minutes like 90-10. After the goal United pushed up more, and the possession the rest of the match was probably closer to 55-45. United had more shots, but didn’t really create many great clear chances. That said, neither really did Barca as DeGea only had to make one really difficult save and the goal was an own goal.

That probably jibes closer to what I was following on Twitter (from a combination of Barca and ManU accounts), but you can't trust what you're seeing from a bunch of random fans during a big game.

“Improbable as [not knowing what the Nazi salute is] may seem to those of us of an older generation, we do not reject that assertion as untrue,” noted the panel. “In fact, when cross-examined about this, Mr Hennessey displayed a very considerable – one might even say lamentable – degree of ignorance about anything to do with Hitler, fascism and the Nazi regime.”

“Regrettable though it may be that anyone should be unaware of so important a part of our own and world history, we do not feel we should therefore find he was not telling the truth about this. All we would say (at the risk of sounding patronising) is that Mr Hennessey would be well advised to familiarise himself with events which continue to have great significance to those who live in a free country.”
