(Though it should be said his ego is so off the charts he probably thinks he CAN win without Brady, so that's a reason he might stay.)

All those "random people" in his Subway ads treat him like a god. I wonder if that was part of the sales pitch when they signed him up.

I think he did it for free personally but for a donation to his foundation.

This one breaks my heart. Not sure if I posted my Avery Williamson story a couple years ago, but he is an amazing human being, and it really sucks that the Jets let him go. OTOH, I'm happy for him, because who the fuck wants to be a player in this organization right now? I was furious last night when the ESPN update popped up on my phone. Meant to tell my wife, she is going to be crushed.

The Giants lost on Monday Night Football on September 10, 2001, in case you’re wondering who to root for.
Re: NFL week 8
Easy Ed McCafferry had a naaaaaaaasty leg break that game, and somehow held onto the ball.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

Oh God. I remember that.

And Rodney Williams (a black punter! Who I almost called Reggie!) hit a monster punt. Those were the days.

Brian Griese just said that Antonio Brown is “a sure-fire Hall of Famer.”
I don’t know that I agree with that.

WR is the deepest position with most deserving players still waiting - and Brown's career didn't hit the longevity marks I would think. No matter how good his good years were. But, that's mostly talking out of my ass barstool opinionating without really looking up his numbers.
Re: NFL week 8
The Meadowlands wind is obviously a major factor in this game and yet the TV crew seems oblivious to it.

Thanks. Was curious about that as the wind is finally dying down here in Baltimore but it has been windy as hell all day- wondered if still blowing enough to affect things there.
Re: NFL week 8
Yeah his peak is unmatched historically. I know it's a different era so that's not the be-all-end-all but if you put up a 6 year stretch that nobody in the history of the league can match, you have a really good argument.

I think it helps Brown that he did essentially the same thing that they all did but without the longevity. Longevity creates bottlenecks.tennbengal wrote: ↑Mon Nov 02, 2020 10:28 pm WR is the deepest position with most deserving players still waiting - and Brown's career didn't hit the longevity marks I would think. Re: NFL week 8
That fourth-down, desperate, off-the-back-foot heave of Daniel Jones last night in the last two minutes to Slayton for 12 yards and a first down? It cost me my fantasy football win. I lost by .08. If it had been a 11-yard completion instead of 12, I'd have still won.
yay!
yay!
Totally Kafkaesque
Re: NFL week 8
Well, if it helps (it won’t), a competent QB defeats the Bucs by two scores last night. Jones made some spectacularly terrible decisions to keep it close.

Not that he was likely to win the starting job back, but Trubisky hurt his throwing shoulder on the play and and the Bears are auditioning QBs.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 4:48 pm Not only were the Bears duped when Taysom Hill came into the game, they were inspired by it on offense and brought in Trubisky to run a keeper on an RPO for no fucking reason.

How's the defense model looking now? I'm really trying to get a gauge on how good this D could be when Leonard is healthy. They really gave up only 14 in this game until you factor in 4 minute offense blowout time.Gunpowder wrote: ↑Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:35 pm
I mean they technically did crack 20 but essentially you were right on about this one.
My model did however tell me to stay away from Green Bay, which was nice of it, but we still ignored it anyway and put it in the the parlay. However, the Raiders and Browns made that a moot point by failing to even come within squinting range of the over.
So far I'm 6-6 this week, which is great if this is actually just a bad week and not a typical week. #1 bet (Raiders) and #3 bet (Seahawks/Niners over) hit at least.
With BAL looking beatable last week I'm thinking could be a real good game.
