The New England Patriots ProShop will offer a free jersey exchange of any #81 Hernandez jersey purchased at the Patriots ProShop or online at PatriotsProShop.com for a new Patriots jersey of comparable value. The free jersey exchange will be available exclusively at the Patriots ProShop the weekend of Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7.

“We know that children love wearing their Patriots jerseys, but may not understand why parents don’t want them wearing their Hernandez jerseys anymore,” said New England Patriots spokesperson Stacey James. “We hope this opportunity to exchange those jerseys at the Patriots ProShop for another player’s jersey will be well received by parents.”

This opportunity for a free exchange of jerseys is limited to the weekend of July 6-7 and is available only at the Patriots ProShop located at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 and from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. The exchange is for jerseys available in the Patriots ProShop only and is limited to one per person

So all this stuff coming out now about what a horrible person he is, was any of this known before? I never heard a bad thing about him, but he was suspended in college and I just don't follow college football. The guy clearly has anger and behavioral issues, but was this a well kept secret, or am I just oblivious?

Of course, we will have endless bloviating about what in Hernandez's "background" may have warned off the poor, misguided Patriots, had they only known, which I guarantee you they did. But, seriously, how are you supposed to "vet" a player so as to know whether he might get involved in killing a guy? Because he smoked some weed in college? Please, do not be stupid. Because of the "influences" around him while he was growing up? Please, do not go there at all.

Prosecution mentioned a Hernandez photo that has circulated on the Internet during the past 24 hours.

"There was a photo that was shown on the Internet of the defendant holding a Glock .45. That Glock -- there's good reason to believe the firearm that killed Mr. Lloyd was a Glock because the Glock has a rifling system that is different than most firearms," McCauley said.

But if you want to tell me that too many guns are at least partially to blame for this, please stop. Just because a lot of something that can kill you exists, doesn't mean it's the impetus for what makes you want to kill. The aforementioned attitude towards it all will certainly do that.
