Those readings from 6226 BC were notoriously unreliable.

Is that a Talmud joke? Because I assumed it was and chuckled.

Just looking at the dates of the chart that DOCTOR Peterson cited...

You mean 1885 isn't "present"?

When I first saw this last week, it was getting dunked on for that.

Elon Musk’s twitter agenda isn’t funny and the taliban also aren’t funny but reports of the taliban paying $8 per month for blue checks is exceptionally funny.

The researcher that generated the underlying data set from ice cores in Greenland is fantastic. I've worked with him a few times and he's currently teaching a Geology of the National Parks Course. The content is OER if you're curious.

Hah...fair point.

ESPN did use to break out the double-wide chair for him so he could make appearances on the old "Sports Reporters" show on Sunday Mornings. Now he's reduced to ranting on Twitter about Tony Dungy and God and showing up on the Fox News Extended Universe.

Billions of boosters given out at this point and the overwhelming percentage of people who have received one or more are doing fine.

The counter argument from the bozos with "long lasting effects" is equivalent to everyone getting a free glass of milk and your shitty aunt who's lactose intolerant trying to act like the government is hanging out death drinks because she got bubbleguts.

It's so comical.

I fucking the hate the Twitter app. Tweetlogix was so much better and they basically killed those third party apps with no explanation. We were enjoying using your platform you tit!

Not basically. It's official.

They don't need to say what the reason was, but with "no ads" as a strong feature for Tweetlogix, losing revenue seems to sum it up.

I follow a lot of dumb automated accounts that post random lyrics and silly shit like that but seems there are also actually useful accounts that will be affected by this. Maybe some of those can or will pay $8 a month or whatever but others won’t and more of what made people like app will be gone.

Roger Waters and David Gilmour won’t be getting the old band back together anytime soon…

Plus, there’s this article: Roger Waters has RE-recorded Dark Side of the Moon; releasing it this spring

Ok, so Twitter is getting worse and worse. Literally all the accounts i don’t already follow in my ‘For You’ are far right. I just keep blocking and it’s just more of the same. My following thread doesn’t show everything, and has more trouble loading than the other. If I didn’t use it so much for news I would already be done. It’s a fucking joke. Perceived right wing complaints become factual and ten times as strong the opposite way in the name of ‘balance’. Fuck elon and his fragile ego.

Apparently only 2 friends of the 400+ I have on Facebook only post the same banal shit anymore, and all of a sudden there dozens of seemingly AI-generated posts by generic communities like "The Year Grunge Broke" or "Hits from the 70s", or "Led Zeppelin in Pictures". It was one thing when my FB feed was inundated by Dodo videos that held you hostage for a few minutes while puppies get rescued from under a house (though usually they're remarkably clean considering where they were introduced to this world), but this is a whole other level of manipulation.

I don't get why anyone would look at the "For You" tab. What am I missing?

This. For those first few days, Twitter kept defaulting back to For You, but for at least a week, it's stayed on Following for me.

I only ever scroll on my phone, and for me last night my following wasn’t updating for a bit but my for you did.

Right. If I spend more than 5 or so just scrolling, following gets stale and I swipe to the other feed which still seems to generally be stuff that makes sense for me.

I haven't noticed any changes if I stick to the Following tab either.

I’m also hampered a bit because most of my Twitter reading is in the morning, and most of my following is US based, so my normal feed is a graveyard.

Whenever I see stuff like this I wonder if 1954 dudes reacted to those quotes the same way most of us do if you see a published quote from an election denier. Or like is Miguel talking shit just so he can laugh with his friends if the paper is dumb enough to actually run what he said?
