If you love sports highlights, you should probably search out Adolis Garcia’s throw in the Rangers game tonight.

Cardinals were down 5-1 when I checked in the bottom of 6th. It's tied now in bottom of 7th. God i hate those people.

Not that it matters much with how the reds look.

That thing is a married mother of two now living in Montana.
I tagged one last 23-year-old redheaded squirter last winter and upon my 50th birthday this summer I swore off the whole lot, well, at least the bartender and nurse demographics.

Maybe he thought it was over but somebody was like "hey, you know this is just the regular season and now we need to win the playoffs too"?

this AL wild card race is ... something.

My 15yr old has become such a baseball (and Jays) diehard that no exaggeration we have baseball on the living room TV all day from the time she comes home from school until bedtime. Last night's Jays/Yankees game was (from Toronto perspective) a playoff game and pretty awesome.

How tf are the Mariners in this.

I'm all about the Jays here but honestly I'm more about the non-zero possibility of a 4-way tie for the WC at end of day Sunday. bring me chaos.

I'm sure I can find this, but what happens if this occurs? Is it both teams play someone and the winners play the wild card? Or do they get knocked off one at a time? The latter scenario seems ridiculous, yet something I'm sure MLB/Manfred could endorse and screw up.

That's pretty much what most people around here are saying.

I'm actually considering being the consummate bandwagon fan and going to a game this weekend. I haven't been to one since I got back from Australia 9 years ago.

The Mariners and Blue Jays passing the Red Sox and Yankees would make up for the Cardinals making the playoffs.

I want to thank the Phillies for dropping the first two in Atlanta this week, making the Braves winning the division a fait accompli. Because I wouldn't be able to watch any of their games from tonight on, and it would've killed me if they got up off the mat and took control of the division, but I'd have to miss it.

What, you have no faith that the Phillies can go 4-0 the rest of the way, while the Braves go 0-4, then have to play Monday for their makeup game in Colorado, to set up a play-in game in Philly on Tuesday? You have no faith in that? Come on!

Yes, there would be two 'semifinals' then the wild card game

In the case of a three way for two spots. The best two teams would playoff first with the winner qualifying for the wildcard game. Then the loser of that would play the third team for the other spot.

In the case of a three way for one spot, it would be reversed. The bottom two would playoff to meet the best team to get in.

Everyone should want the Yankees in just to watch Stanton while he remains hot because there's no one presently who can do what he does. And also to make me happy.

And at least this year you'll most likely be eliminated before Altuve has the chance to do it himself. Again.

I'm torn this year because while I want the Yankees and Red Sox to miss the playoffs on general principle, there's no one from the Cub Diaspora on Toronto, and the only one on Seattle only threw 14 innings for the Cubs that year. I'd rather see Rizzo and Schwarber.

Stanton is the clear AL MVP at this point, and if you throw out any other name you're just revealing your biases.

Sure. And I guess the Yankees have a leg up on most other teams when it comes to MVP consideration, as they are in the playoffs but only barely. Stanton's 3 WAR are the difference between playoffs and not.

But is Stanton even the most valuable player on the Yankees?

Tight sphincter time in MLB!

If the much-loved Giants lose and the hated Dodgers win, we have a tie for the NL West.

And, we’re all rooting for a four-way tie for the AL wild card, right?

For real schedule chaos, you want a 3-way tie for the last spot. Especially if the Sox are one of them because it’s looking rainy tomorrow and Tuesday.

I was already rooting for the 4-way tie, but now I learn that Aaron Boone would have to pick his opponent? That's incredible!

I assume it's actually an easy choice because of the pitcher. But there are no easy choices with Boone

Yes, lots of fun scenarios. In a three way tie for the 2nd wildcard spot, the team with the best tiebreaker would choose to either play two games at home or one on the road.

For example.
1. Boston
2. Toronto
3. Seattle

Or

1. Toronto
2. New York
3. Seattle

I wonder what they would do?

Last night was an awfully fun game to make my return to the stadium after 9 years. The atmosphere was electric, especially in the last few innings.

And here's the scene after the game:

Why 'I wanna dance with somebody'? Who knows...
