Well that's that. Very eerie morning after a quick decision last night.

In lieu of sorries, and I'm totally serious about this, please post a cool dog pic.

I mean it, you already said sorry and whatnot.

Might be taking my dog to a bar at the beach tomorrow. If so, pictures will be taken and shared...

This is Bootsie from last week. She had ACL repair surgery today but is still a very cool dog.

Penny wanted to take the wheel but I told her that 6 months old is too young to drive.

Izzy and her friend Chickie. (I don't think she realizes that this is actually the 5th version of Chickie. Her love tends to shred rubber chickens' necks)

Dog bar is off. I’ll try to get him drunk at home instead. Probably cheaper that way.

Gus is awesome. Just a goofball full of love.

My neighbor's puppy I previously posted is still getting himself into trouble.

There's nothing better than a picture of a dog in a FUBAR situation giving you the look like, "What? This is totally normal. Why are you looking at me like that?".

I’m catching up with Rass! We got home tonight and a daschund mix with no collar came up to us. Very friendly but Also scared by fireworks. We brought her inside and clmed her down. She drank a bunch of water then I went back out to see if someone was looking. Neighbors three doors down were hysterical and my daughter brought dog down to them. Woman was in tears. Happy ending. Only 20-30 minutes but I bet it was hard on them.

(Weird thing was our cat was around whole time and just kind looked at us like...yeah I’ve seen that dog. It’s cool. Because when we rescued a cat a while back he was ready to kill it. Again, my cat is awesome.)

Nice job AB! I really don’t get the letting your dog out with no collar on. I feel weird taking Gusto’s off at night just in case there is ever a fire. The puggle that I’ve personally found and returned 4 or 5 times usually has a collar but no tags! There have been a couple of other times he’s gotten out and he’s ended up on a local FB forum, either from his owners looking for him or someone finding him and looking for identification.

Good bunny.

Were you around for the Swamp version that auto-replaced “friend” with “mate”?

He really was. He used to run around me in a circle until I picked him up, every day when I got home from school. He lived 10 years, which is quite long for a Holland lop, but somehow I thought I'd always have him around.

I missed that version. I'd love to have seen that; I recall some folks taking me to task for overuse of the term "mate"... :)

ETA: My eldest daughter never asked for a pet, but now our six year old is; she's seen all of my pictures of Raph, and wants a bunny. That will be tough; it's been almost 30 years since he passed, and I still can't so much as think of him without getting very weepy.

Dog ran into the yard to pee before bed, and I was a step behind her as I am for night time yard trips due to the amount of critters we've had in the...

OH SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!!!

Smells like a skunk exploded on top of her.

Luckily, neighbour had the full range of skunk-related products and after a half hour in the shower Izzy smells fine.

The house though, that's a different story.

Aw man. Gus got sprayed once (pretty sure I've told this before, it was at the end of a day that started at 4AM when our then 2 or 3 week old daughter woke with a high fever and saw us spend most of the day at the ER/hospital and when all I wanted to do was go to bed I had to spend the night scrubbing him and rinsing him in the tub). They smell much different "fresh" vs in passing, dead on the road.

No matter how clean you get her now, you'll smell it the next time she gets wet.

She smells freshly bathed.

It occurred to me around 1:30 in the morning that the reason the stench was so strong in our room was because of me. Good times!

Sombra vs. the cartels!

Extraordinary drug dog worries Colombian cartel
Some of Sombra’s recent busts include uncovering over five tons of Gulf Clan cocaine destined for Europe and concealed in crates of bananas. Officers also credit her incredible nose with more than 245 drug-related arrests at two of Colombia’s biggest international airports.

“Her sense of smell is far beyond that of other dogs,” Rojas said.

Drug cartels like the Gulf Clan have taken note.

After learning there was a price on Sombra’s head, Colombia’s national police director ordered her to be transferred to a new post earlier this year, according to local news reports. Investigators uncovered the threat against Sombra through an intercepted phone call.
