I haven't left it since I got home at about 8:30 on NYE and I'm pretty sure that's gonna remain intact until I go see the new Dylan flick with my kids at 3:30 Saturday.

Incidentally, Cate Blanchette is still a complete mindfuck in this one...

I had the same thought. Made me sad, with her history of serious eating disorders and body dysmorphia issues.

Are we all just waiting on someone else to make fun of NLFC for using "samesies" on multiple occasions?

Yeah that’s a funny SwampSearch (Giff is sitting on one previous usage). It does seem to be a long time crutch for nonlinear.

Of course Rass beat me to the search function. I just couldn’t figure out how to link to Giff’s post on September 15, 2021. Looks like a lot of the tween girls in here use the term.

I don't use "samesies" (or "obvi"). I'll sometimes use "whatevs" in texts or even on Teams at work, but for whatever reason it strikes me as too informal for the Swamp. I think I do write "gonna" regularly in Swamp posts.

I love that you feel more of a need for formality posting in the Swamp than work Teams chats.

Yeah, I don't say samesies or totes or obvi or whatevs at work (Teams.)

I type like a goofball here because elsewhere, I have to be much more grammatically correct and careful with my wording.

You guys receive pretty much-unfiltered nonsense from me in here.

Alright I've had a potato chip stuck in my throat for a few hours that seems to be at the top and probably had some run-in getting by the old epiglottis. My epiglottis is 53 years old...that's weird. I know it's not the thing where you just feel like something is stuck because I was eating chips when it happened.

So, I can breathe fine so I'm guessing it didn't get in my trachea, and I've drank 2 diet cokes and a La Croix in the past two hours. I've had my neighbor smack my back, and I've coughed so hard that I've thrown up twice (gag reflex with mucus). So if I can breathe fine, and other liquid and food (also had a banana) have no problem getting down or coming up my esophagus, where the fuck is this thing?

Lil Baby‘s “Wham” becomes his fourth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with 140,000 units earned in its first full week, according to Luminate. Bad Bunny trails behind at No. 2 with “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” his sixth studio LP, logging 122,000 units earned with only five days of activity since Billboard and Luminate only count units Friday through Thursday, and “Debí” was released on a Sunday (Jan. 5).

I was at a bachelor party once where a brother of the groom got steak stuck in his throat and choked and threw up at the restaurant but still felt it there afterwards. He tried to hang in but it was bothering him too much so he went back the hotel early alone. He woke up the next morning and the first thing he felt was the steak going down his throat. If this didn't happen for you, its probably all over for you.

So, I was half joking but this experience mirrors mine and my hyatial hernia. We had an office lunch and I felt like something was caught. I gagged, threw some of it up, but it was just stuck. My MIL worked for a doctor's group at the time and when my wife asked her about it the MIL came and got me immediately. They took me to a procedure room and did an endoscopy. At this point nothing was going down and phlegm was just building up so I am gagging non stop. They ended up using the scope to push the stuck food down and that's when they diagnosed my hernia. I was knocked out at the time but when I woke up it was a little sore but no longer stuck. It felt like i was suffocating, but of course I too could breathe, that's just the sensation I got. Two surgeries and endless endoscopies later and it still acts up from time to time, but is nowhere near 100%.

Also, once you have this surgery you aren't supposed to be able to vomit. Well, let me tell you, you sure as shit can and it's going to hurt in a Dickensian way for a few hours because the repair doesn't let the body do exactly what it needs to to get the shrimp burrito out of your system ASAP.

I can't diagnose you of course but it is similar for sure, except that I couldn't get ANYTHING down because I'm a fat slob and I had to eat the free food as quickly as possible. They call it a little old lady's disease because the vast majority of cases are in elderly women who develop GERD later in life.

Ya know how the youths changed the definition of the word rawdoggin' without any prior warning?

I feel like we collectively as a nation we need to do that with the words retard/retarded when describing the Republican party.

It should not be a pejorative word for the mentally or developmentally disabled. It should be what it is: the opposite of progressive. Because that's exactly what Republicans are. Fucking retards.

Oh, and please do not misunderstand the point I'm trying to make with the current polarization of that word and its usage.

No thanks. False equivalency. Rawdoggin' isn't pejorative except maybe to the c-suite at Trojan.

They now text you the survey, which has been lowered to six questions (the credit union requires a police report regarding a fraudulent check drawn on our account).

The was on MTV Classic when I turned on the TV this morning and the TV was on MTV Classic and I don’t think I recall the lady riding the proto-Sybian at the 3:10 or so mark.

Also, rewatching it in light of the news of David Lynch’s passing some of those scenes seem a little Lynchian. A super tall and skinny guy dancing in a room with curtains. A partially undressed guy maybe choking himself with a giant wrench. A little girl dancing with a hanging doll head/beheaded doll.

Last night I was driving home around 8:30, and I noticed from the Cumberland Farms a couple minutes from my house that the car behind me was tailgating me. Then he followed me right to my house and stopped in the middle of the road in front of my neighbor's with his high beams on when I turned into the driveway. Watched me get out of the car, walk to my front door, and go inside. Then I looked out the window, and he turned around in my neighbor's driveway and sped off. He was in a red corvette.

Now I was in a fantastic mood and I definitely didn't road rage anybody. I was just minding my own business rocking out to Beastie Boys. Then today, I got in my car to go to the market, plugged my phone into CarPlay, and the end of the song I was listening to when I got home last night came on from where it was on my phone. Didn't think anything of it but I restarted it because I like that song.

So I'm driving and about a minute into the song, there's a line..."Well I'm a funky-ass Jew and I'm on my way, I gotta say fuck the KKK." As I'm listening to that I just automatically cock my arm up in the air and violently wave around my middle finger as I always do, and then it hit me. I rewind it and pause it right at that part of the song and go back to the Cumby's. As I'm driving by, I unpause the song and drive home. Lo and behold, the song is ending as soon as I pull into my driveway.

I think the worst part about being murdered by a dude in a red corvette in a case of mistaken road rage would have been that nobody would have ever known how funny it was.
