Funny, Dasani is the first one she named! “Dasani is gross, I don’t understand how anyone can drink it.” And Fiji is the best.

Wow, you guys are squarely in my wheelhouse with this stuff.

* - Yes, a significant percentage of bottled water is from municipal or community water systems. I've seen varying numbers... 65-80 percent. The label should note that somewhere. *Some* of that water goes through additional filtration, but a lot of it is literally just repackaged tap water.

* - We run campaigns in our region about being "Salt Wise," because, yes... Dumping a shitload of salt on the roads is going to eventually get into your area's source water. Lots of states/counties are more aware of this and are putting down a brine mixture, which is less impactful on the source water. But very few states have a formal policy when it comes to private contractors. (MN is one of the exceptions, which makes sense for a # of reasons.) So, the folks that deal with large parking lots or apartment buildings and even on sidewalks in front of businesses.. Those ppl have nothing other than reducing liability driving them and they are really big offenders of over-salting.

Also, your water company may be altering the chemical treatment mix to account for the additional salt. That can affect both taste as well as turbidity, which usually shows up as cloudy or murky but could also account for what Sex Machine referred to as "thick" and what I'd further clarify as "mouth feel."

Absolutely safe. But I also would understand going out and buying a case of bottled water if it's bothering you. The salt stuff is obviously going to go away as the season progresses.

After flushing my water tank I'm now determined to get a drinking water filter. So much sediment/calcium build up.

Cool, thanks. We always keep a couple of cases of water on hand, so my daughter is going through those.

The salt level that would be dangerous is high enough that you would know that you are drinking salt water.

I assume you are talking about a reverse osmosis filter and if so, make sure you don't filter out too many of the minerals you actually need. This is a real thing that has happened to people. Like, you may actually need some of that calcium/iron/magnesium.

EDIT: Apparently high hardness is a health issue with drinking water, so yeah I guess if it's high you may as well. You may want to test your water first.

Barry Bonds...Star Strava cyclist...

Barry Bonds is now putting up mind-bending stats outside of baseball
Every couple of months, a new wave of people celebrate San Francisco Giants legend Barry Bonds for something other than his illustrious baseball career: They love him for being a Strava monster.

For more than a decade now, Bonds has been a constant poster of his bike rides, workouts, golf rounds and more outdoor activities on the fitness tracking app. While Bonds has recently been posting more home workouts on the app, the activity he’s focused the most time on is cycling, logging a total of more than 2,100 rides since he picked up the sport in 2010.

His start in the sport lines up perfectly with Strava, the application founded in 2009 that allows people to track their workouts, post them on a social media-style feed and add friends to keep track of. The app has exploded since the coronavirus pandemic began in 2020, more than doubling its user base to what it now says is more than 135 million users.

Blows my mind that CU only has lax and soccer for women and only club hockey. With the amount of dudebros on campus you'd think they'd have quality programs in both.

It is wild, especially since their cross-town rival has one of the better programs in the country. You'd think they'd want to piggyback off of that success.

They have a decent virtual varsity club men's lax team. Currently #14 in the country. They won a national championship about 10 years ago. They play in a tough conference with BYU (#1 in the nation) and #17 ranked CSU (who were a national champ powerhouse in the early 2000s)
