The BC / Doug Flutie Hail Mary game was Miami's next game after blowing the lead to MD. Crazy couple of games.

I'd guess in the neighbourhood of 10,000 or so. But when the comeback really began in earnest, thousands ran back to the stadium. I remember seeing people climbing the 12' high fences because there was a bottleneck at the gates. The Sybian wrote:Awesome, how many people walked out?Pruitt wrote:Did I mention that I was at that game?Giff wrote:Your night? Leaving that game, we knew we'd never be at another game that incredible. The noise is indescribable - unless you've been to a game where EVERYONE is screaming at the top of their lungs, you just have no idea how exciting it was. It really looked like the Oilers were a man short for the entire half.

Hold on, I'm trying to see if Jack London ever gets this fire built or not.

That game was basically the beginning of the end of the Oilers and the collapse the next year was pretty much the final nail in the coffin. Now I root for the most vanilla team in the NFL who pretty much wasted the 2014 draft.

As one whose teams have suffered some of the most brutal losses imaginable, I do empathize. That Oilers team shoulda, woulda and coulda been legendary.Giff wrote:That game was basically the beginning of the end of the Oilers and the collapse the next year was pretty much the final nail in the coffin. Next year's team was so good. Then Buddy Ryan punched Kevin Gilbride. Sigh.Pruitt wrote:As one whose teams have suffered some of the most brutal losses imaginable, I do empathize.
