Somehow just realized that I've probably interviewed Jim Tressel before. (Was working for school newspaper when CMU played at Youngstown State in 1995. Tressel was in the middle of his tenure there. We certainly would have had talked to him on the phone before the game and then at the postgame presser. Weird the stuff that comes to you years (or decades) later.)

(Was also the last road game CMU ever played against a I-AA/FCS team.)

Big doings here in the Seattle Area: 110 arrested in Bellevue prostitution sting set up ‘to fill void’ after Asian brothels shut down

Now...why is so particularly interesting?

One of the men caught up in the sting was Mitch Levy, the sports-radio personality who hosts a morning show on KJR 950 AM, according to a Bellevue police report obtained through a public-disclosure request.

Levy, 50, was booked into jail Aug. 26 before posting $500 bail, and has since been charged with misdemeanor patronizing a prostitute, according to jail and court records.

Levy placed $160 in cash on a bedside table in anticipation of a half-hour of sex, the police report says. Levy told one of the arresting detectives he had played golf earlier in the day and claimed he had come by for a massage, the police report says.

But the report notes “there was no other reason for this suspect to come to the condo other than to purchase sex.”

This guy has been on the air here forever...since '95 or so. Married....2 kids. Dumb ass.

When I lived in Seattle I used to listen to Mitch in the Morning (I think I discussed that here). Mitch and Fish (whose job before sports radio was apparently DJ at a strip club) were great.

I also find this one not so surprising
A large number of technology workers and a local sports-radio personality were among those arrested for investigation of patronizing a prostitute.

Wait a large number of technology works in Seattle....color me surprised.

Whenever I post a reply on this board, the resulting URL that gets generated doesn't return me to the original message thread. It just leaves me hanging there in the ether, leaving me to wonder if this was what it was like to be a Supreme, or in the band Vanilla Fudge.

Gotta be an old-timer to get that one.

The Fish was about 3 co-hosts ago. They tend to stick around until its time for a contract renewal, then they get bounced for someone younger/cheaper.

I used to listen to Mitch quite a bit (back when I listened to sports radio), mainly for one segment where he would interview local writers about whatever the big story was nationally. Wore thin when I figured out that about 1/3 of the time it was just something regarding Mitch's favorite teams (Dolphins football, Syracuse basketball)

As of now, he's still on their webpage. Wonder if he'll be on the air tomorrow morning.

Overrated: Three-day weekends
Underrated: Coming back to a 4-day work week

Can we adjust that "overrated" to "three day weekends that include the Monday"? Because I love the Fri-Sun where on Saturday you think its Sunday and then you're like OHHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIT!!! when you realize its not.

No way, the best ones are the ones where the day off is on a Monday. Friday is basically a half-day.

Lots of things are closed on Mondays and Sunday mentality exists whether or not you're going to work on Monday. Its unavoidable.

Verdict: You are wrong.

Three day weekends are never, ever overrated. Ever. Monday off instead of Friday off is probably more preferable because 'SMonday' is a thing, but I'm certainly not complaining to have a day off either way.

Nothing better than waking up on a Sunday morning and remembering it's a "Saturday" morning. Also makes me feel less guilty about my Sunday day-drinking.

Agree with brian except for the Tuesday after Labor Day because it's only 2 days until the first NFL game most years.

My physical therapist has 101k Instagram followers. His practice is in the Jackson Wink Academy and he's the head physical therapist for lots of top UFC fighters so it makes sense, but I did not expect to see a number that large.

So eat at the one that's open and drink at the one that's open on the two times a year this happens. This isn't rocket science, dude.

Stupid question I'm sure, but if I have a chance to see USC/Notre Dame in South Bend I should take it, right? I'll be in Chicago for training the week before and a co-worker lives in South Bend. Just not sure I want to spend that much time away from the family.

I'd say its worth it, especially if it's only going to add a couple of days to your trip.

Yeah, that's my thought too. Plus one of my oldest and best friends lives in Chicago. He's been working in the bar/restaurant industry for years. I haven't been since 2005, but we had a hell of a time with free and awesome booze. And since then he's had his hand in more restaurant stuff, so I'm even more excited about that.

If you do decide to come over to South Bend, let me know. I can try some connections for some good tailgating action.

Love how everything is now at the proper font size.

I don't mind them at all. They kind of give me that hip, college professor vibe. Although, anything more than 10 feet away becomes blurry as fuck, so I can't really wear them in public.

Yeah, I started wearing reading glasses last year and it's like... I don't know why I waited. I don't mind wearing them, but I lose shit on the reg, so now I have them on this lanyard type thing that is supposed to be on sunglasses and hangs around my neck when I'm not using them.

And I don't care if they look dorky, because I can see shit on my phone again.

Went to the Sounders game last night, and as we were waiting to go inside, there were two bible thumpers standing right by the line, holding huge signs about going to hell, and loudly screaming into bullhorns about how we better repent or we'll die in a pit of eternal damnation.

And I got to thinking....does that work for anyone? Has there been one person, ever, who hears that kind of stuff, and thinks "Hey...he's got a point! I better get right with the Lord, right now!"?
