The Swamp

So every year when my elderly (but sharp) neighbours across the road go to Florida, I look after their house. Bring in the mail, turn on random lights, flush toilets, that sort of thing.

4:30 I went over, brought in the mail and the place had been broken into.

Must have happened last night or today. Drawers dumped out, screens off windows (they came in through the back). Called their lawyer son and then called 911 and was on hold for 3 or 5 minutes!

Cops still aren;t there 90 minutes later, but the lawyer son is. He looked around, didn't touch anything and figured that the thieves got nothing of value. no vandalism, no theft of mementoes or anything.

Dawns on me that I should have run over to my house to make the calls, just in case. I can see the house through my office window.

Clearly, the took off the screen on the window facing the backyard, climbed in, went to the bedrooms and dumped out drawers... but only the top three or four of each dresser. Weird.

so im putting this here because i just needed to tell someone and i know you guys wont tell. I bought an engagement ring today and am gonna propose to Ashley Christmas morning. im so nervous and excited
