Every plumber I’ve had at the house, first thing they ask is “do you use flushable wipes?” One said there is no such thing as a flushable wipe.A_B wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:27 am100 percent of plumbers I’ve spoken to hate those thing with the passion of a million white hot subs.BSF21 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 9:02 amAlso pro tip, those flushable baby wipes are fucking lifesavers.Steve of phpBB wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 4:08 pmYeah at some point I was just drinking that liquid plumber stuff while sitting on the can. Yeah that one gets a lot of people early on.Johnnie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 1:07 pm Being deployed to a base without infrastructure for 7 months really made me realize how much I take plumbing for granted.
I wasn't even allowed to flush toilet paper because even that is too much for field bathrooms.
(Sidenote: I also learned far too late that you should not dispose of used oil in your sink after cooking. You should jar it up and throw it away.)
In Thailand, only Western hotels have plumbing where you can flush toilet paper.Johnnie wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 1:07 pm Being deployed to a base without infrastructure for 7 months really made me realize how much I take plumbing for granted.

I use a can that I keep in the freezer (freezing it makes it unlikely to spill). When it gets full, wrap it up in a plastic grocery bag, and throw it in the trash.
