That's how I found this place many many moons ago. A northwestern journalism summer camper said there was concacaf discussion to be had on this forum.

Teen Vogue has had some pretty well written stuff of late. Lauren Duca (I think)(too lazy/time strapped to check) has been pretty good.

Why does it have to be deleted? it's an opinion piece. People who don't agree with it should just write a counter piece.

It was an advertisement, not an opinion piece. But the issue isn't that because that's obviously fine (advertising), but it wasn't labelled as such which is the fault of both Facebook and (mostly) Teen Vogue.

Its not an opinion piece, its advertising (or propaganda) framed as an article.

Comment sections are a cesspool but I wonder how this affects engagement or click-throughs or whatever they use to measure readership and charge for advertising?

Same thing up here. The article about closing comments mentioned their site gets over four million unique visitors a month and only about 3,500 different commenters, so I would guess the comments don't have much effect.

The article also has over 2,400 comments.

Yeah, the sites are clearly owned by the same parent company based on their appearance only.

We don't have anything to do with the comments stuff, but they're one of my biggest customers. We've actually had good traction with Syracuse lately (nj.com -- not so much)

For what's it worth, I wouldn't bet $1 on that happening.

What a shock that the WSJ Opinion page is ready to put him on Mt. Rushmore now that the Treasury is going to give trillions in bailout funds to large corporations.

If he had somehow managed to stifle his worst instincts and actually rose to the occasion from the start, ordering the federal government to produce tests and providing them to the states, offering and taking the advice of the scientists, nationalizing the production of masks and ventilators, etc. I would have given him all the credit in the world, here and elsewhere.

But he's not capable of it and he'll never be capable of it, so there's no "worry" about this being anything other than a huge goatfuck when he's all said and done, so if the WSJ wants to play "what if", I'll say that if Chrissy Teigen decides to leave John Legend for me next month then I'll be a hero forever to overweight, middle-aged guys everywhere, but the odds are roughly the same.

Sad thing is, he would have been uniquely qualified to do just this. If he had been in lockstep with public health experts from the beginning, only outliers on the right and left would have complained.

Yeah, this was his chance to put all of the incompetence and divisiveness in the rearview window and have this be what voters think of when they vote in November. An even semi-competent response probably would have locked up his re-election.

Like Joe said I don't think you can take anything for granted or project any out further than the next week or so at this point, but if this goes as bad as it looks like it's gonna go, I really don't see how he gets re-elected.

The other thing ppl have kind of forgotten about her is that she was one of the last SI swimsuit models that really made a pop culture impact. She's been at this for a minute.

Also, we aren't (for the most part) all that in tune with Instagram culture. She has a huge following there, which has reinvigorated her relevance.

I think she’s got a much higher range of variability from picture to picture than most super models. Maybe that’s to her credit, being more down to earth (or at least having a brand built around seeming as much) and willing to occasionally take a shitty photo. Dunno.
