They'll probably get a bowl bid over a 7 win CMU team because the MAC.

Know someone who went to Ohio U but is an absolute hardcore Ohio State fan, while still kinda supporting OU. Is this permitted?

Unfortunately that's an all too common thing all over Ohio (except for maybe the Cincinnati area). OU's success in the last decade has made it much more prominent in the state, but OSU will always be the 9,000,000 pound sports gorilla for all of Ohio's colleges.

Here's an example of how broad and petty the OSU fans are in Ohio. A few years ago, I had my annual check up a day or so after an OSU bowl game. I go into the doctor's office, and a nurse starts taking my vitals. We make some small talk for a few minutes, and she asked me if I watched the OSU bowl game. I told her no. She gave me a shocked look and asked why not. I told her I'm not an OSU fan because I didn't attend the school, and just because I live in Ohio it doesn't mean I have to be a Buckeye fan. She simply said "Oh" and then proceeded to finish the rest of her work in complete silence. She even walked out of the room without making eye contact or saying anything.

I will say the OSU saturation isn't as great in Cincinnati, mostly because UC and Xavier have been on par or exceeded OSU's basketball program, and UC's football program is the second largest in the state. I recall one of Cincinnati's sports talk radio hosts (Lance McAllister, I think) called for more OSU coverage within the last few years, but he was shouted down by just about everyone.

It's the same at all the Ohio MAC schools (Miami, Bowling Green, Kent, etc).

Congrats to the Bobkittens on the comeback last night...I felt good for the first half; then OU started blitzing.
I would like expensive whiskey.
We only have beer & wine...

I'm just hoping 6-6 Uk plays 6-6 OU in a bowl game.

One of the CBS bowl projections has CMU playing Texas State. Giff and I can exchange barbs for weeks over a meaningless exhibition game!

Hope it happens, but don't get too excited yet. Lots of ways for 6 and 7 win teams from the MAC and Sun Belt to get fucked. Seen it happen too many times. The MAC has 5 guaranteed bowl spots and there are 5 teams with 7 or more wins, then Ohio and likely Akron at 6 wins and I'm fully expecting the MAC to pull some shenanigans to get a 6-win Ohio or Akron team in a bowl ahead of CMU.

Nah, I'm sure Sabo would trade an infinite number of ill-gotten 6-6 bowl teams for just one of our conference championships. (That said, I hope Ohio does make a bowl game, just through one of the MAC's back-up bowl bids).
