Thank you Friends Up North for this Sport/Event
1.) I like that Lance Armstrong could not hack it/qualify for the world championship
2.) I like that it is not done as a Euro-metric distance
3.) I am not sure I like that it allows for some flexibility in necessary equipment
4.) How is this not a huge charity event at every university?

I think the fact that guys are slamming four beers in 5-8 minutes would make it a hard sell at a university.wlu_lax6 wrote:1.) I like that Lance Armstrong could not hack it/qualify for the world championship

And I now have my favourite athlete in this event:
Finlayson is one of Canada's fastest masters runners. He recalled one beer mile on a rainy night in 2007 in near-freezing weather when he could not see his beer, so a friend stood near it with a blinking light. He had selected a heavy local winter ale.
"Strong, but I chose it because I liked it," he said. "I don't want to sacrifice elegance for the event."
"beautiful, with an exotic-yet-familiar facial structure and an arresting gaze."

NC State does a Krispy Kreme mile every year. You have to run a mile and eat a dozen donuts. I've never been, but I understand there is a LOT of puking.
Totally Kafkaesque

Which order. Run then eat? Or eat then run?
Re: Thank you Friends Up North for this Sport/Event
There is a bike race in Utah that is a bit more strategic. You get 3 minutes off your time per doughnut eaten. So you have to balance time to eat a doughnut, sickness/full belly, and how fast you can ride.

Looks like I was a bit off. It's 5 miles. Run 2.5 miles, eat a dozen hot donuts and then run 2.5 miles more. Damn.tennbengal wrote:Which order. Run then eat? Or eat then run?

I'm glad people participate in these events for charity.
Kung Fu movies are like porn. There's 1 on 1, then 2 on 1, then a group scene..
