I was born in 1973 and I'm almost certain I didn't hear Bohemian Rhapsody until Wayne's World. But my parents didn't have the most awesome taste in music.

Yeah, I know. I didn't think that one through.

If I was to say Bohemian Rhapsody was Queen's biggest song, is that by popularity or length?

Not girth.

Rex's post on the Sony thread reminded me of this classic...

I’ve just watched wayne's world and one of the dudes in the back for Bohémian Rhapsody is... Oz’s Beecher !! Which was probably my biggest laugh of the night (it hasn’t aged well).

I watched the first 20 minutes or so of Austin Powers the other day and thought that it held up pretty well. Wayne's World is maybe a little more of its time.

I think the humor in Wayne's World has held up well, but the idea that those guys would ever be considered "cool" has not.

Wayne's World has to be the worst of all movies that are the most-quoted. I really can't think of another that comes close.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago as well and agree. Lusting after that version of Tia Carrere is ageless though. I almost forgot how hot she was in that movie.

The 33 Greatest Musical Moments in ‘Dazed and Confused’

I think I would have found a way to push "Tuesday's Gone" up a notch or two (at least).

Rocky clearly owns, Eye of the Tiger, Hearts on Fire, Living in America
Can 8 Mile own Eminem's hit?
Madonna--This Used to Be My Playground from League of Their Own
Slumdog--Paper Planes (might be just me)
Simon and Garfunkel' Sound of Silence the Graduate
Man of Constant Sorrow--Oh Brother
The Harder They Come Jimmy Cliff

Pulp Fiction probably owns a few. That soundtrack is crucial to the whole movie.

Not disagreeing, but honestly drawing a blank beyond Urge Overkill's cover of "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" and Dick Dale.

For damn sure "You Never Can Tell" to the twist dance competition. That movie owns that song. Can't ever hear and not think of that scene.

In the Tarantino world you also have
Little Green Bag ...but some of that is Steven Wright introducing the super sounds of the 70s

Not always movies but the Muppets owned some stuff for me because that is how I was introduced to the songs and artists at an impressionable age.
Rainbow Connection
Moving Right Along
The Cat Came Back
Fever-- Rita Moreno
Banana Boat Song and Earth Song by Harry Belafonte (but I can hear the argument for beatlejuice fans on some of this)
Welcome to my Nightmare
Grandma's Feather Bed
Coconut
Mahna Mahna (which is not a muppet original)
The Gambler
Devil Went Down to Georgia
Top Banana
Green Door
