Wow.
During school (mid-80s) buddy and I braved a brutal ice storm in Montreal to see Bluesman Luther Allison on a Tuesday or Wednesday night at the Rising Sun Blues & Jazz Club. No more than 12 people in the place. Two of the waitresses sat and drank while one other one handled the "crowd."
"Braved" a bit of an exaggeration. Walked 4 blocks...
Luther and his band played two long sets, and a lengthy encore. Never seen anything like it. Everyone buying him and his band drinks, him standing on tables playing guitar - like being at a private party.
Between this and the Balloonfest, I'm going to be laughing all day!

I don't get it.
Edit: NVM finally clicked it in the right order while holding my tongue just right.

If I were making a list of people in order of how comfortable I would be provoking them, Anthony Jeselnik is pretty far down the list.

Not sure why, but that challenge and retort reminded me of the "do something with that" part here, which is one of the all-time great one-liners (starts around 6:50 but watch the whole damn thing for the build-up).

So the twitter beef between Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent has escalated quickly. Floyd offered $1k to the nine best trolls of 50. 50 claims Floyd was banging the wife of his best friend before they died. Yikes. Either this will end in courts with billion dollar defamation suits or this is an elaborate plan to set up some kind of PPV fight. Yes, I'm that cynical.

Man, there is no "cynical" after the McGregor-Mayweather nonsense.

I do like how, when you look at the profile page for an account on Twitter, it lists if you and that account have common followers.
Of course, when something gets thrown into my timeline because my cousin liked it and, while in the process of muting the third party, I see that the only other account I follow that also follows that third party is "Racism Watch Dog", I start to wonder if I just have to take the next step.

Anyone else having a problem getting the linked tweets?
In a twist I did not see coming, Brooks Melchior of SportsByBrooks apparently spent his 5 year dark period obsessively researching the early history of football, with a focus on segregation and racism in the sport. His Twitter feed over the last 2 weeks has some amazing stuff, including this video of Jackie Robinson dominating for UCLA:
Apparently Robinson was a much bigger football star than baseball star while at UCLA but was not given the opportunity to play in the NFL.

Biggest fucking day of my life.
And a shout-out to Howard - he was the one who pointed out years back that Marx was correct about that.

I know all of this is probably causing my brain to atrophy, but just for this hour I'm glad I knew who Laura Loomer was before today.

No idea who this person is, but I looked up the story online, and she dares to put a yellow "Juden" star on herself?
They should shoot her.
