I don’t mean to interrupt you guys. And, kind of off the subject, but guys born in the late 40s are culturally fairly different than guys born in the early 60s. But all lumped in the same group. I understand why, but... Weird.

I think we can all agree that this Bob Lonsberry guy is a dick.

"Bigotry?"

Aimed at the most entitled bunch of whiners the world has ever seen?

According to the Wiki, he was selling a line of merch called FUBO wear, which stood for Fuck You Barack Obama. Also said he liked to speak about his affinity for women's breasts. Sounds like a class act.

As a Boomer myself, I’ve never heard a Boomer say or act like they had any problem with the label. A few dorks on twitter, and now it’s a sensation. Seems like it’s a fake, forced “controversy”.

Being a baby boomer is/was a source of pride for the most part. But when it's co-opted by a younger person to show that someone may be out of touch is when Boomers don't care for it, it seems. It's more the dismissal than the moniker.

Yeah, that makes sense. Part of the aging process is learning to accept that as we get older, we are often no longer in touch with what is considered hip and cool and current at the given moment. Some have more trouble with that than others.

We must embrace our ignorance of current pop culture!

My kids (23 and 20) keep me vaguely informed, but there's nothing sadder than older people who try to stay hip.

What's funny is the meme began when a baby boomer posted on TikTok a rant that began with "Millennials and Gen Z have the Peter Pan disease. They never want to grow up..."

He then actually made a decent point that there's no Utopian society and all of our ideas don't fix everything. That's fine to say, but it was couched in a "you foolish kids" dismissive tone with an "I know better than you" attitude.

Like, I'm a millennial who's going to retire from the military in less than 2 years. The military is majority young people that want to do well and learn things. Sure, shitty people exist, as they do in all generations, but the current power structure here and otherwise are older people who don't want the boat rocked.

I got the 3rd degree from my first supervisor back in 2002 when he starteda rant with "You fucking PlayStation Generation kids don't understand hard work and are entitled little shits..." Then he went on with things like having to be "bribed" into service with an enlistment bonus when he joined "because he lives his country." This was like day 3.

So I get very salty when old people act like we're the problem because we have different likes and values. Plus, millennials became the burnout generation. Gen Z is literally worried about their futures because of climate change.

So yea. Totally over baby boomers who raised my generation to be booksmart, question everything, call out bullshit, and then get pissy when we go "Oh, it was you people all along. Cut the bullshit."

1. I don't think you have to be a lawyer to appreciate that.
2. It's better if you imagine it being read in Dennis Haysbert's voice.
3. So, did that guy win or what?

Oh, yeah, maybe? Was it really a fight? I think maybe I said it was a bubble and he disagreed? But that was here and not Twitter, I think. I honestly have no memory of interacting with him on Twitter.

I was kidding, but I do remember being shocked by the vitriol he shot your way in that one.

Update on the thread bengal shared earlier:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2 ... menancing/
“You just trashed your profession,” U.S. District Judge Otis Wright II told attorney Christopher Hook at a hearing Monday, before asking him to resign. At issue were emails Hook wrote to his opposing counsel in an insurance dispute, telling them to “eat a bowl of dicks” and “pay up fuckface.”

A little background. Some of you know what my company does, others maybe don't or don't care (it's fine either way, really), but this is a really nice post-holiday news about a promotion we recently ran, our first ever national promotion that our partners could pick up with a prize of $15,000 which we presented as free rent/mortgage for a year. I was really, really, really glad to see it apparently went to a family that could really use the help which obviously doesn't always happen.

No one has a weapon in hand, so there's no real threat. Plus, why ruin a meal because some other idiots decided to be idiots.

Kebabs are worth ignoring the world for, honestly.
