NFL Playoffs - AFC Divisional Round

Post by sancarlos »

Might as well get this going. Does anybody think the Ravens have a good shot in New England? I wish both teams could lose, but since that can't happen, I'll be rooting for the Ravens. But, I don't see them winning in Foxboro, unless Brady, Gronk or Edelman gets hurt.

Of course, the game I really care about is Sunday. I think the Broncos really needed that week off. Peyton looked tired and banged up the last few weeks. Hope that is enough to set things straight. Colts looked good last week. This will be a tough game.

They both may be tough - to me it all depends on Flacco. Playoff Flacco keeps it close, regular season Joe and it's a blow out. New England with the cover.

As for the Broncos, they can win with ball control, so my money is on them to coast.

Baltimore is 5th in DVOA, so it wouldn't be impossible. I jumped all over Baltimore +7.5 when it opened before the sharps bet it back down to 7. I think it'll be close regardless. When you have an offense that just throws the ball up and tries to get DPI calls you always have a chance.

Ravens won AFC title game in Foxboro two years ago, and came within a drop of winning it in Foxboro three years ago. Not sure why anyone would write them off or think they cannot win. If anyone can go into NE and give the Pats a good game, its Baltimore.

If the Pats win it's by something like 4 and the defense has to come up with a random clutch play. Flacco in the playoffs is ridiculous. Otherwise, I'm certainly not counting them out by any means.

Honestly, I wanted the Steelers to get beat by them because that was the team I was most worried about the Pats playing at all. And when the Ravens thumped them I was like, "Oh shit. Takebacksies! Takebacksies! Shit."

Poor Sterling Moore.

I think having a healthy Gronk and Revis in the secondary rather than Edelman like the last playoff game will help.

While this is true, these are completely different teams. And to lessen the "but the Ravens won in Foxboro" chants, those Pats teams were either horrendously flawed or dealing with a crap load of injuries, this Pats team has no glaring weakness aside from sometimes having problems on the OL, but that has stemmed more from injury and chemistry issues than lack of talent.

I think the jury is still out on this. Dan Connolly missing the last few games has apparently raised his reputation to John Hannah levels. Maybe it's just by comparing him to Marcus Cannon and Josh Kline, who are awful. Nate Solder has had some horrendous games this year too. So this is where the Ravens can win.

Also, if the Patriots do win the Super Bowl this year, it will probably be because of their defense and special teams more than any offensive heroics.

To me, as alway, it comes down to the OL on both teams. If Suggs and Dumervil get to Brady, if Ngata and Williams can push the OG/C into the backfield, Brady will hear footsteps and throw picks. If Brady has time, it's a blowout.

I'm rooting for the Ravens. The rest of you can eat balls.

I hate both teams, but will root for the Ravens with you. The thought of Pats fans having to explain away Brady getting outplayed by Flacco in four straight playoff games sounds pretty good to me.

No thanks. I'm good.

If the Pats don't score a TD on this drive and the Ravens get another touchdown on their following drive, it's over.

And here I thought the defense would show up at least.

That 3rd and 8 conversion was huge. Otherwise punt and get steamrolled.

illegal pick, #49, officiating team.

(just saying it was a smart play by brady and it didn't hurt that the umpire was where he was on that play.)

Still no PI and their offense IS based on drawing the DPI.
