I answered the WC question as if it asked for someone who has scored one goal in either of the last 2 world cups, not both.

ETA - I also answered as if you were discussing men's, not women's WC.

Apropos of nothing, I've always struggled with captions like the one on that shirt. My first instinct is to read that as "South Born & Raised In Detroit." That you are supposed to read the center text first because it's branded differently just doesn't register.

in fairness, for one thing i didn't look at the playoffs. i didn't make the playoffs and never even bothered opening the thread. all i had to go on was regular season final standings and my general dislike of the city of providence in general.

Every tournament does have a region of death. you got a 2 because i assume if you are smart enough to write all the questions you are smart enough to answer most of them.

I must have missed the solicitation of questions. But I've got one right here. How about a modest alteration of the first-round question "Name an Academy Award nominee for best picture in 2003?" Say, by changing "in 2003" to "before 1980." Or, in the spirit of brevity, by putting a period after "nominee."

pass. 2003 was one of the few years i payed attention and saw all of the movies, and have strong opinions on them. besides, its a filter question to let me know who googles and who doesn't. By the way, have only received emails from Ryan, SL, and Chedda. have pms from pruitt wlu and carwash. get them in people. scoring takes time guys

Sent my answers. Of course, I had no fucking idea for that Academy Awards question. I wouldn't have fared much better if you'd asked about LAST year.

I've also noticed as I've gotten older that it's very hard to know what year in the past something happened unless it happened while I was in high school or college. I can then work the years out by what else was going on my life.

The farther you get from college, certainly once you have a family, the years just all run together.

Absolutely. Which is why I should have known the 2005 movie, since I just moved in with my wife when I saw it. If I thought about 2003, I did see 2 of the correct answers on dates.

Based on our seeds, BSF and I were the bottom two teams to make the field. The crap teams that somehow won their conference tourneys. At least in my case, that seems like appropriate seeding.

If both teams in a matchup don't submit then the team with the better regular season swampcrash nfl record advances....there will be no more byes after this first round, someone will advance.
