So who is in the bubble? The people who watch Walking Dead but not NCIS, or the people who watch NCIS but not the Walking Dead?

So, is the idea that I need to go to chain restaurants and watch network TV in order to be a better person?

Anyway, I non-sarcastically think this is a useful exercise, since usually the line of thinking is that it's Joe Sixpack from Peoria who is the "isolated" one who needs to learn about the things us cool people do.

Tumblr, I guess. I don't get Tumblr.

Also, I'll get around to doing that thing you guys are doing at some point.

Just a way to post a bunch of pictures, innit?

(I kind of don't "get it" either, but I don't think there's much to get.)

Really don't know much about Tumblr either, other than that it has somehow become a byword by hyper-easily-offended people going on meandering echo-chamber rants.

That's what I thought, but it seems to be part blog, part image macro thing. And also the whiney rants stuff that Carwash notes.

Mister D, I as well am rather meh on Snapchat. I have it, but I have like, what, a handful of followers? I use it to follow porn stars. Originally it was the app to send nudes and dick pics that couldn't be saved. It has morphed into a visual journal that saves your stuff for a day.

Originally you had to keep your finger on the screen. Not anymore. Originally it was a 10 second snapshot, but it's video and pictures. Even now, they just recently added calling and video calling features. So...The original intent has changed.

But if you saw a dick pic you really loved, couldn't you have just taken a screenshot?

With the right finger dexterity depending upon your phone, sure. But then it sends a note to the sender that you did that.

Yeah, if you screenshot it (or replay a snap) it will let the sender know. It's also an app that unless you have your sound down you want to make sure you don't use in a place where people are within earshot, especially if you don't know the contents of what you're going to be looking at (video with audio or simply a picture)

I like it a lot. I send random pictures out to people with it much more than I text a picture, probably because it feels less permanent than sending a picture message. The video chat feature drains the hell out of your battery though.

She was one of the few bright spots on SNL recently. Her physical presence plays really well on that show for the characters they write for her. She also was an opening act for Chappelle and Katt Williams (and from what I picked up as side comments in some podcasts may have dated him).

Counterpoint: She's consistently too loud for little reason and terrible - like, THE worst - at reading cue cards.

AGREED. SHE IS WAY WAY WAY TOO LOUD.

(I don't get Killan getting dropped. He was one of like ... four? ... decent members.)

Yeah, that was a bummer. I do find Jones hilarious though. The Naked and Afraid with Peter Dinklage was so funny.

I think that is why I like her. She is just so different from most of the cast. I also think they use that size/loud in ways that make me chuckle.

Side point- Glad to see Taran Killam gone.Vanessa Bayer is not funny at all (playing only one character in just different clothing). Kyle Mooney and Pete Davidson make me laugh just looking at them (But neither have acting chops). Also I give Michael Che lots of leeway because him leaving the Daily Show for SNL was an amazing bit.

I wanted to sit down and look at the list before saying who my ... four? ... were and I'm pretty sure we like different things. I thought Killan was faaaaaaar and away the funniest guy for a few years running now. Like top 3 gap over the ~25 or so years I've been aware of the show. And I like Bayer a lot too. Other "good for SNL" members would be McKinnon (who I think is overhyped a bit, she's basically intense Ellen in 90% of scenes), Strong and Zamata. The others you mentioned are funny, but they're standup funny, they're not versatile actors in skits funny. Kenan Thompson is the worst and I will [turns and stares directly into the camera to deliver the punch line] not accept any arguments there.

Cosign all except I think Kenan Thompson has crossed over to actually self-aware funny now. I like him.

He's their glue guy. He's usually solid and they've found the right types of roles for him over the years.

No no no no no no no ... Unless we have a different definition, aren't glue guys the ones you can throw in any skit and either maintain or improve it without the audience even knowing how much it would diminish without them? That's like explicitly not what Thompson was, he stood outside almost every skit he was in and he delivered right directly at me. He was a more composed but just as intentional "look at this I'm doing an SNL skit for you to watch" version of Fallon.

You're using past tense like he still isn't doing exactly what you're talking about. Also, you're making it seem like it's not funny.

Outside of Philly D and Casey Neistat, the ones around these days are completely foreign to me. And it's basically vague familiarization due to a Reddit link here and there. Were Jenna Marbles and Ray William Johnson the ones to get everything going way back when?

I know South Park did a PewDiePie episode. Search "Cartman brah." It was funny.

Because they sold 51% of the company for 10-15 million last year to Peter Chernin and relocated to Manhattan where the website expanded and went bigger than the niche they already had.

Which leads to bigger things from there like Comedy Central picking up their daily headlines podcast/webisode, The Rundown, for the week prior to the Super Bowl.

And Colts punter Pat McAfee retired to join them. Also, porn chick Asa Akira joined them as well as Rone (Adam Ferrone) of the rap battle league King of the Dot.

Also, their podcast Pardon My Take is #1 ahead of Bill Simmons and the like.
