I used to use oyster mushrooms in stir fry dishes. They are great.

Great job, BFJ. Very inspiring. In fact I was going to do it anyway, but purchased a membership at Bronto's gym of choice -- Planet Fitness -- today and will be working to shed several spare tires.

This is all diet and medication. Getting to the gym is next. It may not hurt as much to do anything physical.

Just go when they are giving out free pizza and skip the working out part. My parents go to Planet Fitness and insist their location doesn't give out pizza, but there is a giant candy bowl and the front desk, I think they said tootsie rolls.

Yeah, saw that. There’s a bagel day too apparently but access to free food is my problem not my solution.

Oh it’ll be 10,000 times easier to eat healthier on a cruise ship than in the casinos but if I can make it 7 weeks sticking to a diet and exercise regimen I can indulge a little on the boat.

BMI is completely worthless, don't even look at it. Terrell Owens in his prime was obese on BMI. The most important thing is how you feel compared to where you were before. And beware with Ozempic, I've read that you lose muscle and connective tissue as well as fat, so it's important to exercise.

Seconded. Endo loves my weight loss. Is worried about the muscle loss since I don’t exercise. My argument that I don’t have muscle to lose didn’t fly.

I wouldn't say you even have to start lifting weights. just some simple basic bodyweight movements would be a big deterrent to any pharma-induced muscle loss

yoga and pilates would even qualify

Have to get an EGD in Dec and was required to do a small pre-op EKG. All good there but the main takeaway was A1C down to 6.3 (was 7.3 on Aug. 25). Doc was pretty ecstatic over that. Apparently if I can keep it in low 6s as a diagnosed diabetic that would be delightful on her end. Also, weight on Aug. 25 was 238 and today was 216 so definite progress there. Averaging about 2 pounds a week it appears. Would like to get to 195 or so and see how it feels etc.
