I love me some Tom Izzo. Let's not act like he pulls together a team of walk ons for a true cinderella story, though. He's had the tenth most Mcdonald's all-americans since 2000, behind most of the blue bloods as well as Texas and Ohio State but ahead of UConn, Syracuse and Louisville. And he probably gets 3-4 years out of his blue chippers, which certainly matters in building teams that are mentally tough and know how to play in March.
They were also terribly underseeded this year.
But I agree that he gets the most of of his teams at the right time. It's absolutely a skill.
