Olivia Rodrigo tonight
It's the sixth version of The Swamp. What could possibly go wrong?

Her Austin City Limits appearance was great, so, please share your thoughts at your convenience.
Our seats were awful. Near the top rows of Kia Center (where the Magic play), almost directly to the side of the stage, and the speakers were definitely not pointed in our direction. You know the sort of U shaped seating configuration in basketball/hockey arenas? We were very near the end of the letter U, so hearing her wasn't as great for us as it was for everyone else. I pretty quickly readjusted my expectations to just try to enjoy what we could from such bad seats. She performed from 8:30-10 p.m. playing all or nearly all of the songs from her two albums. The 10 p.m. end time was nice for those of us who had to drive back to Tampa, and also for all of the families with young kids. I'd say 80-90% of the people in our section were wearing purple (one of the main colors of this album/tour), and a solid 50% or so sang along to nearly every line of every song. It was great to be around people who were so into it, (including my kid and his friends), and it wasn't like the crowd singing was the reason we couldn't really hear Olivia. I had the aisle seat, and about halfway through the show three different girls that couldn't have been more than 9 years old made their way to the aisle for more freedom to move/sing/dance, and it was really cute to see them sing along with everything.DSafetyGuy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 9:52 amHer Austin City Limits appearance was great, so, please share your thoughts at your convenience.
Bachmann just released a recording from a "living room" show set he did in a cave in Colorado a few years back. It's very good and very similar to what my experience was hosting him back in January.govmentchedda wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 12:08 pm Hosted a "living room" show (at my office conference room) for my favorite artist of all time, Eric Bachmann, on Saturday. Go ahead and meet your heroes, if they happen to be Eric, because he's such a good dude.
"Live from a divorce attorney's conference room", now THAT will move some vinyl.
Well that was a LOT of fun. Not sure I have another show in me tonight, but WTF. This band never slows down. You aren't getting ballads from these guys. The amount of energy they put out is incredible. Sat on the rail last night and will be doing the VIP/soundcheck/meet and greet tonight. Lots of fun.bfj wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 9:58 am My buddy from way back when loves the band the Disco Biscuits. He goes to tons of their shows. Took bass lessons from their bassist online during COVID, tutors the guy's daughter in math, etc. He was given a Golden Ticket by the band for a +1 to any show they play forever. I've seen them once and had a great time. They are playing at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD in a few weeks and he's booked us a VIP package of seats (mostly a GA standing room venue), backstage access, soundcheck and early access for both shows. To be fair, my friend and I could go to the ballet and I'd still be just as excited, but these dates in March are circled for me. I miss this guy and I'm excited to see him. And I need to go see some live music.
We sprung for the VIP package. Exclusive bar and restrooms. whores de vores all night. good seats, too.Nonlinear FC wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 2:14 pmI think we might try to see him when he hits Wolf Trap.

When you’ve got a Canadian band loved by Mexicans playing for a fairly conservative crowd of rodeo fans in Texas you’ve got the makings of a true North American juggernaut.
Adrien Belew is FANTASTIC to see live. Saw him play with David Bowie back in the early 90's, and it was amazing.EnochRoot wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2024 7:52 pm Adrian Belew to play King Crimson shows centered around Discipline, Beat, & Three of a Perfect Pair LPs with Tony Levin, Danny Carey & Steve Vai.
Apparently the first date is Sept 17 in San Diego. Rumors it will be a substantial tour.
