The Swamp

I missed the Stanley Cup game that used to run on the swamp. The one where you draft players at the beginning and got points. Multipliers for certain players. Coming to the end of the season...would be fun to do it again...hint hint hint. Appologize if this was a different swamper member.

I also like this game.

I would also like to be in on this and I can think of a few friends who would as well.

I'd be happy to keep track of the scores but I would have no clue on how he set up the multiplier for each player.

Two years ago....

Players are sorted into 8 equal groups, based on Points Per Game rates from the regular season. As you go from group 1 to 8, points get progressively more valuable, meaning a goal/assist for Ovechkin (group 1) is worth 1 point, while a goal/assist for Jarome Iginla (group 4) is worth 1.75 points, and so on. There is also a team group, which awards either 4 or 8 points for a series win, depending on the seed of the team.

So I just take the top 95 (playoff bound) in the regular season points list and put 12 in each category? No need to worry about injuries or missed time, or should I at least make sure they are active when the season ends? Next Saturday is the end of the regular season - would anyone care if I did the breakdown midweek, assuming all of the playoff spots are locked up? How big of break is it before the playoffs really start?

I'll try to put a thread up this weekend, but probably wait until fucking Calgary eliminates the Jets before finalizing the groups.

I also wouldn't mind making a little website to put standings and stuff up on. What's this decade's version of blogspot or some kind of basic free hosting place? Tumblr?

Good news and bad news...

Good news is I have no job and a decent amount of free time so I should be able to put this together again. However, I'm going on a road trip April 5th for about two weeks, so updates would be spotty the first week of the playoffs.
I'll try to have it up and ready early this year, by April 2nd or 3rd hopefully. Since there's only 1 bubble team in each conference, the groups could probably be set any time now.

I enjoyed making the website for it last year, so I think I'll do that again if people are ok with that.
