One of my favorite swamp traditions is the Stanley Cup Avatar Bet

Typical Rules
1.) Winner of the most recent game in the series gets to set the Avatar of the losing side until next game (i.e. if you win, you have the other person's avatar until your team gets a win).
2.) When your team wins the series you keep the other person's avatar until your team loses a series
3.) If your side wins the cup you keep the loses avatar(s) from lifting the cup +1 month

I will take the caps, any Islander Fans on the board want some action?

The two swamping Islander fans, Zman and Hood, haven't been around these parts in awhile.

I've got the Hawks if anyone wants action. I'll also take MIN over STL to satisfy BSFG/F's rooting interests. (cuz I'm not doing any other satisfying! amirite boys? bahdumtissss)

I haven't done any avatar bets for years, but if I were going to it would be for something like college football or basketball. Might have missed our chance for Syb or Diamond for the SUNY-Buffalo/CMU MAC final.

Sorry. (I'm also not really going to be around very much for the next couple of weeks anyway. FWIW.)

any Rangers fan want to win a bet over this Pens fan, who can't realize his team won't win this series?

(this lottery is so weird. i probably wouldn't even mind if the Sharks got him, but holyhell there are more than a few teams i'd be horrified by winning...)

An avatar bet on the draft lottery?! I know that this is both pathetic and awesome, but I can't quite figure out the ratio. And yeah, those odds seem a little too skewed in Max's favor. East-coast bias.

Max, I still think that you should take my suggestion and stay heavily sedated thru the rest of the week. Did that doctor who killed Michael Jackson ever get convicted? Maybe he can hook you up. (You know, with slightly less than whatever he was giving MJ.) Failing that, just stay away from anything that will make you think of hockey. Binge-watch 'Mad Men' or 'The Teletubbies' or something.

I just realized "one of the (three) teams Mister D truly hates" has better odds of winning the lottery than any team except Buffalo. Yikes.

Look at the first post. Last team to win keeps the avatar until the other team wins, gets knocked out of the cup, or +1 month from lifting the cup.
