Those are the major ones I think of I suppose.
Amazing that those two occurred in the same season.

I don't think it's an accident that we haven't had a .400 hitter since integration.
My avatar corresponds on my place in the Swamp posting list with the all-time Home Run list. Number 45 is Paul Konerko with 439.

Not only is he a Jew from Egypt (al Jazeera places the current number of Jews in Cairo at 11), but his father was Sadat's personal physician. Not only that, he made his first fortune running a beer distributorship in a Muslim country.

While it can't be confirmed that American Pharoah was circumcised as a foal, he is certainly the best Jewish athlete out there. But the fact that he races on the Sabbath raises serious questions about his devotion to the faith.

I like the 2-4.
The Jewish Forward Daily named American Pharoah as one of the top 50 notable and newsworthy Jews of 2015.

Let's see how long it takes him to pass the bar.

But horse are treyf!

http://www.tabletmag.com/scroll/125704/ ... not-kosher
There are two signs that identify a kosher species of animal. 1) It has split hooves, and 2) it chews its cud (i.e. it regurgitates its food and chews it over a second time.) The first sign is easy to spot – just look at the hooves. But the second is not so apparent. You have to study the animal’s digestive system to know if it chews its cud. A cow is an example of an animal that fulfils both requirements, and is thus kosher. A horse is not kosher because it fulfils neither.
Scandalous!

The surgeon I work with is friends with Zayat, same synagogue. He would've brought me along when he got to meet American Pharoah, but he didn't know I liked horse racing.
Who knows? Maybe, you were kidnapped, tied up, taken away and held for ransom.

Based on a half hour of intense handicapping, I like the favorite Nyquist. Also, the probable second favorite Exaggerator.

Longer shot pick: Brody's Cause.

I'm putting $10,000 across the board on each of them.

The derby party I'm going to on Saturday has a thing where you can put one horses name into a bucket to win, place and show if you get picked (and you're right) then you win money (a larger amount for win, then progressively less for place and show). Trying to figure out how to maximize my strategy. I don't know if you can use the same horse's name -- if so then it might make sense to hope the favorite wins and go with Nyquist for all three buckets. Or to go with a mid-tier dog hoping that no one else picks them and they win.

I'ma set up a little game to honor Bensell here in a bit. I'll manage it and we'll have a bit of fun in the Triple Crown Season.

Weird idea. There's a guy who doesn't own any horses who bought a spot.
