Lack of symmetry or flow is almost always bad but that one is especially terrible.

Looking forward to the Sharks wearing California Goldn Seals throwbacks. Hope they wear the white skates!

That Seals logo is an all-time classic.

Charley O. Finley owned them for a while, and I remember being at a game at Maple Leaf Gardens where the Seals all wore white skates.

Also...

Every 2022-23 Premier League away kit rated: Patterns, pinstripes and plenty of eyesores

The hate for Spurs, Leeds and Fulham is well earned.

As much as I hate City, I think I like their road kit the best.

And Chelsea's is atrocious.

ETA: Man U seems to be falling apart on all fronts - that 3rd kit is heinous.

If that's the case, than the Leeds groundsman was wasted...

I hate Chelsea's away shirts this year. I think I just don't like teal. Luckily the stripes are small and don't really show much on TV. I like the blue socks though.

City's road are cool, their third is horrendous. I don't normally like the weird patterns, but Arsenal's away jersey are sweet, I might have to buy one for the first time in 5 years. Not a fan of the pink, and shocked my pink hating daughter wants one. Newcastle's Away might be my favorite, but their Saudi National team third jersey puts the stink on everything related to the team, including Cerrano. Some truly horrendous kits out there, like Southhampton's away, Forrest's 3rd and Fullham's away early 90's Jorge Campos want-to-be jerseyw... Tottenham can fuck right off with their late-night jogger reflective vest away kit. I kind of like the clean simplicity on ManU's away shirt.

Southampton wore their 3rd kit on Saturday... it's godawful. (like their midfield)

Thing is, they were playing a team wearing all white - could they not have worn their home uni? Or at least something with a traditional team colour? How many Southampton fans will want to buy this? 15? 20?

I was listening to Sirius' fantasy football channel on the way home from DFW yesterday and one of the hosts got so tickled by that pic that his laughing had me laughing before I ever saw it. So hilarious.

I can only assume a beef was started in a club when he hit multiple patrons with that hat and that's why he was shot.

Fanatics gets the NHL jersey deal. Said some fabric changes may occur but will use the same show in Quebec to make them. Really just a different logo. Fanatics makes the Nike baseball jerseys too (they bought Majestics). Move for fanatics to a brand instead of just ecommerce. Not sure this is the deal that is going to do it....but fans love to wear hockey sweaters.

People are not psyched...

Why fans are furious about the NHL’s uniform deal with Fanatics — and why they should be
Way back in September 2020, I bought a T-shirt online.

It was black and long-sleeved. It cost $23.73, including tax. It had a University of Maryland basketball wordmark across the chest. And it sucked. It sucked in every way a T-shirt can suck.

Bizarre fit. Uncomfortable fabric. The overall look of something that’d shrink after Wash 1, fade after Wash 2 and start to dissolve after Wash 3. I tossed it on my closet floor. Goodbye, Bad Shirt.

That particular garment — designed, manufactured and sold by e-commerce quasi-monopoly Fanatics — came to mind on Tuesday morning, when the NHL announced its new “official on-ice uniform outfitter” starting with the 2024-25 season and ending 10 whole years later. It is, of course, Fanatics, the brains behind That Shirt I Didn’t Like.

They’re behind a lot of shirts that a lot of people didn’t like, in fact. Lots of replica NHL jerseys, too. Therein lies the problem with the choice, the announcement and the general reaction from the folks who care enough about NHL apparel to spend their money on it; the league has partnered — in the most meaningful, long-term, high-stakes way possible — with an apparel brand that nobody actually seems to like.

Agree 100% about not being psyched...the bulk of their stuff, while usually cheaper than Nike et. al., is low quality garbage. Hopefully they can step up their game.

So back in 2000 I played in one of the premier lacrosse tournaments in the country (Vail). Our goalie was a pretty sketchy dude Philadelphia guy. He was working for this startup and I was talking with him a bunch about it (we shared a house at tournament). He was a marketing guy but described himself as a bit of a "fixer" for the CEO. Company was GCI Commerce (they basically were the whitelabel provider of sports retailer websites for years....fogdog, sportsauthority, etc were basically just GCI). Did not think about him or that company for a bunch of years until I realized that the founder was the founder of Fanatics. Based on Linkedin guess the goalie left GCI before it got sold to ebay and has not reconnected with Ruben.

So George Washington University is going to move away from the Colonials because it is "divisive". Only thing divisive about GW is terrible traffic, cost of the school, and Mike Jarvis playing mind games with my friend who was trying to walk on to the hoops team back in 94.

Maryland Football going back to the script Terps helmet. Going away from the busy Maryland flag design. The script was introduced by Bobby Ross and brought back by Fridge in 2010. I am sure there will be 4 other versions that Kevin Plank pays for during the season.

Was just going to post that. Yeah very sharp. And supposedly (and I’m not sure how this is true but apparently it is) it’s the first blue helmet in NFL history.

Maybe that particular shade, but there's at least one team that's been wearing one since 2002.

Almost none of those have blue as a primary color for their helmets. In fact the only one even from college that I think is similar is UK.

Colts throwback were blue. Chargers have powder blue and used to have dark blue with a yellow bolt.

Wait, are we arguing whether navy/dark blue is actual blue? All those teams mentioned above have blue helmets. And the Rams switched to a more royal blue shade a couple years ago, so not even the first medium-blue helmet.

Hot Take: The proliferation of Black For the Sake of Black (h/t Uni Watch) is a worse 90s uniform development than the proliferation of purple and teal.
