Understand why they're being aggressive, but England in danger of being run out for a wicket here.

That was pretty interesting, but I think it really only scratches the surface of what's possible. The issue seems to me is probably that the biggest cricket these days is still played at the international level for the most part, so there's not that much of a financial incentive to seriously invest in it like we're seeing with the NHL and MLB (and to a somewhat lesser extent the NBA and NFL).

I'm pretty sure at the National Level they could afford to use data analysts but I'm not sure the counties could, they are on shoe string budgets

England starting to bash a little bit. Getting interesting.

All out for 211, think Oz have a more balanced team, they have a couple of people who can anchor an innings whereas nobody in the England team seems capable of batting responsibly.

Pakistan need to wrap this up. Keep NZ under 200.

Pakistan gave up too many "free" runs those last 7 overs. Disappointing.

Pakistan batting pretty well so far. If they can finish this off, the pressure really mounts on England. Pakistan has a likely win (AFG) and a possible/probable win (BAN) left.

New Zealand has to be in desperation wicket-taking mode now. I have to admit I'm rooting for Pakistan because I'm here for the chaos.

ETA: Just saw a Pakistani fan with a sign saying "We are unpredictable, but entertaining" and that's about damn right.

At the least gonna be a lot more drama from those final round-robin matches than some thought earlier in the tournament. Still seven teams with very realistic chances to advance.

I'll bet there are some pissed off Indians right now. Close review but it looks like the review got it right.

I like following this on the BBC

Isa Guha, Ex-England seamer on BBC Test Match Special:
I know Chris Gayle has been working on his running between the wickets.

Sir Curtly Ambrose, Former West Indies bowler on BBC Test Match Special:
Really? Don't you think it's a bit late for that?

Something about Bumrah's delivery makes me laugh. The run-up looks so stiff, but that dude can sling it.

I know it's hardly elegant but it's certainly effective.

I feel like Afghanistan is gonna beat the Windies in that finale. The Windies already seem like they're ready to go home.

India have now taken over from England as the #1 one day team in the world, going to take a very good side to beat them.

Was sorry to see Sri Lanka not put themselves in the hunt for that fourth place spot, but they can't really complain. Teams that can only put up 200 batting first aren't going to win too many matches these days.

Ferguson and Neesham have been huge for New Zealand so far. Great catch by Neesham for the last wicket.

England did what they needed to do. If they can’t defend this total two things are clear:

They probably don’t deserve to make the semis.
India have to be considered clear favorites to win it all.

Re: Cricket

I was thinking if this Rohit/Kohli partnership can get it to where India need “only” about 175 runs with 20 overs left it basically just becomes a typical T20 run chase and India would have a 50/50-ish shot maybe.

Huge wicket there. Still some dangerous batters to come for India but I felt there was a chance of some more 12-run overs to come if they kept going.
