Haven't had the Hennepin Saison/Farmhouse, but Saison Dupont is the tits.

Also, Rush, get your ass to the Cigar City table at GABF and get your hands on some Humidor Series IPA, and Hunapu Imperial Stout.
Until everything is less insane, I'm mixing weed with wine.

Just had a Jai Alai IPA.

Love beer week, got some Sun King, some Prairie, a Boulevard bourbon quad, another Rye on Rye (what up Bronto!) and the Ommegang GoT stout.

Also got a 2009 Mephistopheles and a rum barrel aged coconut porter from Avery. Got to meet Adam Avery as well. Very very cool guy.

Love the Hop Rod. Probably my favorite rye beer, though Wookey Jack is a toss up.

Right now enjoying McEwan's Scotch Ale. Apparently it went out of production a number of years ago, but Wells and Young recently brought it back with the original 150 year old (or so) recipe. It's pretty good, and an easier drink than most scotch ales, as it has no lingering after taste and isn't syrupy like some Scotch ales tend to be.

I know. When lou first pointed me at it, he mentioned the obscenely high ABV.

I never knew meth was better with age. Seems an odd choice to end the night, as the night wonb't end for another 3 days.

Mephistopheles Stout brewed with coffee. They called it Meph Addict at first put people got up in arms, so now officially known as Tweek.

Beer was from 2009 so still a Meth.

I was looking at that yesterday. Sounded kind of gross, so I passed. I did lunch with my old secretary, so I stopped in at my old beer store. Came away with a nice haul:

DirtWolf is very tasty.

Enjoying my first Punk'n in Colorado. Have a few St. Arnold Punkinators in line for tomorrow.

Syb, I love the Ten Fidy, just wish it wasn't so damn expensive. The Out of Bounds Stout was the first craft beer that got me really into the craft beer scene (and a gold medal winner at GABF in 1994 (Avery was founded in 1993.)

The 61 minute is quite nice. You get the sweetness of the must and then just a touch of the bitterness of the hops at the finish.

Had a New Belgium/Cigar City collab today that's Belgian yeast, chiles and aged on cedar. Good but very weird, but I am sure will sell like mad due to those involved.

Even weirder as I read aged ceder as aged cheddar.

May be difficult, it was a batch of Green Lakes that they f'd up some how and then decided to "infect" it with Brett yeast and then barrel age it for 4 years. We got one case, and I could only get one bottle. Sad that they'll most likely never recreate it.

I still like Full Sail quite a bit.

Going to meet up with Sybian tonight and tip a couple. There's a good cafe here in San Carlos with about a dozen Belgian beers on tap. Maybe we'll go, there.

somehow I missed this post. AutoStraddle? Looks like I have a new temporary name if/when this version of The Swamp implodes. I went to the comments expected people to make fun of the concept, but no. every comment thought it was the bees knees.

8% isn't bad for for a Weisse.

Funny how I used to love them wheat beers, now can't stand them.

Having a 'Take The Black' Stout from Ommegang. Good, but not outstanding. I prefer more backbone in my stouts.

Currently drinking s bomber of Bear Republic Black Bear Stout. I was really excited to try this, as I love Bear Republic's other offerings and it has extremely high ratings (Bros give it 100). It is good, nice and creamy with good flavor, but just too smokey and roasty for me. I think it overpowers the malt, chocolate and other flavors. It is a bit boozy, too. Only 8.1%*, but you can taste the alcohol.

*Yeah, 8.1% is fairly high, but not for an Imperial/Double stout.

If anyone hasn't tried it yet, Sixpoint's winter seasonal(Global Warmer) is pretty damn good.

I figured it would be a typical spiced winter warmer, but it is a hoppy red ale. Really well balanced. The $14 growler fill was an absolute bargain.

Good to know, haven't seen it yet. Six Points Resin DIPA is one of my favorite beers. I am a big fan of the brewery, and love the can designs.

I'm pretty sure I could drink no brewery's beer other than Cigar City and be perfectly happy. Sure, there's other great stuff out there, but I really like most everything they brew, and they always have at least 10 tasty options on tap at their brewhouse.

Unfortunately I've never seen it up North. They some interesting sounding stuff, and I'd love to sample some of their Humidor Series offerings.
