Fun tip: mild, boring fruit beers (looking at you: apricot and mango) are much better with some Tabasco thrown in.

That is... something. What kind of legal advice did that guy get?

Lawyer friend speculated that it knowingly makes him look dumb, obviously, but also the prosecutor who belabored an obvious point.

Saw a beer today that was called freedom rock and well, I’m gonna get it next time and TURN IT UP.

(This will only make sense to people who watched a lot of WGN and TBS growing up)

It was a running commercial for a mail order rock music compendium. I’m sure I can find a link tomorrow on YouTube but it was just a mail order classic rock collection.

The commercial was all shitty live videos though, right? Was the product being pitched just the cd compilation? I can't remember.

Well pulling out a big MI beerfest and (temporarily) closing their Detroit taproom.

Colorado's oldest craft brewery to stop distro. They were always pretty 'meh' to me.

So AB InBev is paying $321MM to fully own Craft Brew Alliance. I don't get this math at all.

Doesn’t make sense on the surface but they had about a 1/3 stake already so maybe the numbers are there? Cider and gluten beer. Other than that, nothing exciting about those labels.

So they said they weren’t buying it three months ago. Then the shares dropped from $14 to $7 until today. They announced they are buying it after the market closed and AH its up $9 to $16. Imagine those guys that sold upon the news and the bottom dropped only to see it pop back up. Guess that’s the value of the business before AB pushes the Mkt Cap down by more than half. (:shrugs:)

So you had to correct it when you posted some old news as if it was new. I recall some asshole making a deal out of somebody doing that same thing yesterday.

Not sure in terms of barrels, but they're still not corporate owned so I'm on their side.

It's totally worth the trip to the brewery if anyone ever finds themselves in Houston/Austin/San Antonio, FYI.

Spent some time on Saturday at the Firestone Walker brewery and taproom in Paso Robles, California. Always a good time. Lots of beers on tap there that you won't find at your local beer store.

Typically don't stock too much beer but with the apocalypse looming I've started a cache. So far:

- La Cumbre IPA
- Odell Drumroll Hazy
- Pike's Peak Gold

(Yes I almost exclusively shop at TJ's.)

I've just about finished off a case of Elyssian Space Dust IPA. It was good. Not great, but good.

Now, I need a new stock of everyday beer. I'm looking to expand my horizons a bit, and am open to suggestions on what I should buy (of course, it needs to be available hereabouts in the Bay Area.)

What say you, Swamp?

Space Dust is a top 5 example of "beer is much better now than 7(?) years ago". I was a huge fan when it first hit the east coast. I'll let a west coaster make the fridge call.

They carry Pliney at my local market, at a good price. No way I’d have it shipped. If my wife is in a good mood, she usually picks up a bottle or two for me.
