I tend to wonder after the convictions of Derek Chauvin and the female officer who went into the wrong apartment and shot the black tenant, this case was a little Caucasian payback, starting with Judge’s thumb on the scale.

I didn't follow this case, but from what I gather, the prosecution was shockingly horrible. The clips I've seen make it look like the Judge was slobbering all over Kyle, but I wonder if it was because he was a fanboi, or just pissed at the prosecution's incompetence. BTW, was Hood's buddy representing Kyle, or was he fired?

To be fair, and this is going to sound weird, his actions with North Korea were a net positive in that region, wildly enough.

When I was there earlier this year it seemed as if tensions weren't as dire as they were when I was there a decade ago.

It seemed like giving the dude exposure on the world stage placated his ego and diffused things to an extent.

Of course I'm not a foreign policy expert, so I could be off a bit. But that was my impression.

As I understand, essentially none. That's just the term that Georgia uses for first degree murder.

From a quick Google search, malice murder in Georgia requires either an express intent to kill the victim, or when “… where no considerable provocation appears and where all the circumstances of the killing show an abandoned and malignant heart.”. So it appears to be more akin to common law second-degree murder.

Georgia does have first-degree murder, like practically all jurisdictions. First degree murder is harder for prove because it requires malice aforethought, meaning you had the intention to kill after turning it over in your mind. When there’s planning or some prior deliberation, that’s closer to first-degree murder.

GA Code § 16-5-1 (2014)

Cool that the superintendents of the two districts my kids attend both felt compelled to send out an email letting parents know they’re aware of the vague tiktok/Snapchat school threats this week and that police presence will be increased as a result. More than one school in the state has gone into lockdown or even closed this week due to this crap.

Super cool that my youngest came home talking about it and wasn’t sure whether she should go to school tomorrow.

Well, yeah. I won't let my 10-year-old have a phone yet, nor get anywhere near pretty much any social media at this time. But I think she's in the minority at her school as I know she's told me about some TikTok dances she's watched on her friends' phones at school. She does have her own computer as of two months ago that is highly monitored and parental controlled.
